This part-time online course is a collaborative venture of the University of Edinburgh, the University of Sydney, and the University of California.
It is designed to encourage multidisciplinary learning and will equip students with the knowledge and skills to manage pain more effectively. Students receive clinically relevant education of international standard in the sciences, concepts, approaches and procedures that form the basis of multidisciplinary pain management.It follows the core curriculum of the International Association for the Study of Pain.
Students will learn within the context of a multidisciplinary team to develop:
* a deep understanding of the principles and practices which underpin the biopsychosocial approach in the management of pain;
* an ability to make a strong contribution towards improved outcomes for patients with pain problems and expertise in evidence-based approaches to practice in both clinical and non-clinical contexts;
* an understanding of specific fields of personal interest within pain management practice.
After completing four core courses in first year, students enrol onto elective courses in second year, allowing them to tailor the programme to their professional needs and career goals.
This is a web-based distance learning programme. The course combines independent study, online peer discussion, interactive tutorials, written assignments, critical reviews and oral examination.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testThis course is suitable for graduates in medicine, dentistry, nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and other allied disciplines involved in the management of pain. Candidates with relevant clinical experience will also be considered.

* TOEFL 580 (with 55 in each section and 4.0 in TWE)
* TOEFL 237 in CBT (with 21 in each section)
* TOEFL-iBT 92 (with at least 20 in each section)
