The Programme is offered in full-time and part-time modes for students wishing to achieve the MSc award. Full-time students undertake all modules during one academic year, while part-time students undertake modules over 2 years. The modular structure of the programme allows students to select the most appropriate profession-specific modules and shared or generic modules from a suite of modules within the postgraduate provision of the School of Healthcare Studies.
For the Postgraduate Certificate, students need to complete the Research Methods in Health and Social Care module (30 credits) and at least one profession-specific module (30 credits). To be awarded the Postgraduate Diploma, students need to complete the Research Methods in Health and Social Care module (30 credits) and at least two professionspecific modules (60 credits). The remaining 30 credits can be made up of either another profession specific module or one or more shared or generic modules available within the MSc suite of optional modules. Students who proceed to successful completion of a research project and subsequent dissertation will be eligible for the award of a Master of Science degree.
