The MSc Neurorehabilitation programme started in 2008. Since then it has evolved, with the aim of developing physiotherapy or occupational therapy practitioners capable of working at specialist level within their field of either adult or paediatric rehabilitation
The course is structured on a modular format. Students complete the generic module Research Methods in Health and Social Care and two further compulsory modules, Neuroscience of human movement and dysfunction (HCT240) and Neurological rehabilitation - a theoretical basis (HCT042). The remaining 40 credits are selected from the available optional modules.
Students who proceed to successful completion of a research project and subsequent dissertation will be eligible for the award of a Master of Science degree.

Take testThis programme is suitable for qualified occupational therapists or physiotherapists who have at least two years’ clinical experience, which should include some work in the field of neurorehabilitation. A degree or diploma in the relevant profession is required.
If students wish to do the module on Advanced Clinical Practice (HCT229), students must be working for a minimum of 16 hours in the field of adult or paediatric neurorehabilitation and have HPC registration. Applicants should also show evidence of personal development, which will be assessed by a study of the applicant’s curriculum vitae, including post-registration courses attended and career development. Students working with children need to ensure that they have a current Criminal Records Bureau check.
Applicants whose first language is not English must satisfy the English Language requirements for entry to the university by attainment of a minimum score of 6.5 on the IELTS or equivalent.
Note: International students pursuing part-time programmes of study are not eligible for Tier 4 (General Student) visas and must have alternative leave to remain in the UK if they intend to study at the University in person.
