Location of Cardiff University

The course offers knowledge and expertise in the core of planning practice including the nature, purpose and instruments of planning, planning land and development,a nd either spatial planning or site planning, design and development (depending on the content of the Masters degree).

The course can be completed in eight months with three modules spread over two semesters, or over three years taking one module per year, one day a week, or an intermediate combination.

Assessment:

Assessment is by a mix of projects, exercises, simulations, essays and other assignments set across all three modules.

Course Structure:

The course is taught on one or two days per week.

Special Features:
* Available in a part-time mode one or two days a week, allowing students to work almost full-time, but still gain a qualification that can provide access to the UK planning profession.
* The students are taught alongside others doing a professional 'conversion' degree and special assistance is provided to help them manage their work.

Requirements

The course is suitable for all graduates of the MSc in Housing, the MSc in Transport and Planning, the MSc in Regeneration Studies, the MSc in Sustainability, Planning and Environmental Policy, and the MA in Urban Design, and those with similar degrees from other accredited planning schools who did not do an undergraduate degree in planning.

Note: International students pursuing part-time programmes of study are not eligible for Tier 4 (General Student) visas and must have alternative leave to remain in the UK if they intend to study at the University in person.
