Focused on practical knowledge on an outstanding scientific level, the programme provides graduates of selective medical or natural-scientific disciplines with wide-ranging certified biotechnological skills in identification, characterisation and production of target molecules. The curriculum guarantees that - unlike many of the postgraduates who develop their qualification within scientific working-groups - the biotechnological specialization is realized not only in segments but on a wide basis. Further topics are the legal framework, systematic economic utilization of the scientific results, and the competent and critical participation in the discourse on the ethical and social dimensions of biotechnology.
