Location of Cardiff University

This new collaborative programme is delivered by international staff at the Europa Fachhochschule Fresenius University of Applied Sciences (EFF) in Idstein, Germany, and leads to the award of a Cardiff University MSc Degree.

The course extends for four semesters (full-time students) or six semesters (part-time students) and consists of modules to the value of 240 Cardiff University Credits (CATS*), which include a dissertation of 60 CATS credits and healthcare/pharmaceutical industry placement of 60 CATS. Students completing 240 CATS credits will be eligible for a Masters degree.

*240 CATS (Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme) are equivalent to 120 ECTS (European
Credit Transfer and Accumulation System).

* Principles of Health Economics
* Basic/Advanced Economic Evaluation in Healthcare
* Healthcare Systems and Regulations
* Health Policy Management
* Pharmacoeconomic Theory
* Application of Pharmacoeconomic Theory
* Global Pharmaceutical Development and Regulations
* International Pharmaceutical Benefits Schemes, Reimbursement and Pricing.

Special features:
* An orientation programme will be held prior to the start of the academic term, providing information on student life at EFF and introducing students to key members of staff
* The course includes a residency period in selected organisations involved in health economics, where students gain insight into the working pattern of such institutions and may apply knowledge to concrete problems in the health care sector
* Participants are encouraged and able to work and research internationally as part of their compulsory residency programme and research project leading to a thesis


IELTS

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or comparable exam from a university or university of applied sciences with the scope of the Framework Act for Higher Education (Hochschulrahmengesetz). The degree must carry the equivalent of 180 ECTS credits and/or a standard period of study of at least three years.

Applicants whose degrees are not directly related to health economics or health sciences must provide proof of at least 6 months relevant practical or theoretical health care experience.

Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): Grade B (Score: 75)
