Programme Description

Society´s growing awareness of environmental degradation and the need to mitigate pollution impacts on the environment demands actions by a new professional -the environmental engineer- to ensure a development of society combining company competitiveness and a sustainable, environmentally friendly perspective. All over the world, the need to overcome such challenges has caused Environmental Engineering studies like the ones offered by this master (120 ECTS) to consolidate.

o Organised by: Department of Chemical Engineering of Universitat de València, Institute of Water Engineering and Environment of Valencia Polytechnic University.

o General goals: The specific mission of environmental engineers is to analyse, prevent, and correct environmental damage, protect the environment, and improve environmental quality. They deal with problems like unsustainable resource use, waste generation, and water, air and soil pollution by preventing human activities -including productive processes- from affecting environmental quality..

o Specialities:

* Management of water treatment plants.
* Environmental Management.

The maximum number of students is restricted to 32.

The Master in Environmental Engineering consists of 120 ECS credits; (108 cr. teaching and 12 cr. master project).

Requirements

o Addressed to: Graduates from scientific and technical areas, the most suitable profiles being: Chemical engineers, civil engineers, industrial engineers, agricultural engineers, forest engineers, or mining engineers; Graduates in Environmental Sciences or Chemistry.; 3 - year degrees in Industrial engineering, civil engineering, agricultural engineering, forest engineering, or mining engineering.

o Admission: Degrees mentioned above, academic records, and profile adequacy.
