A distinctive Master of Arts in Archaeology of the Biblical Lands is offered by the Departments of Archaeology & Anthropology, and Theology, Religious Studies & Islamic Studies.
The Department offers a wide range of research- and vocationally-oriented Postgraduate Certificate and MA Schemes, which are designed to appeal to students from a broad range of backgrounds and to cater for students with different time available to study (full-time and part-time schemes), either as residential students in Lampeter or from home. The schemes which are available both to residential students and via distance learning from home are marked (e). All of the schemes comprise two parts: (1) a taught component, comprising modules valued at 120 credits; and (2) a 20000-word Dissertation (60 credits). Students who successfully complete Part 1 are eligible for the award of a Postgraduate Diploma, and may then go on complete the MA through submission of a Dissertation.
This degree provides a comprehensive grounding in the Archaeology, History and Religions of the Biblical Lands ( Syria, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Mesopotamia).
