Full-time Course

A long established university-based Teacher Training course for Post-Compulsory Education and Training, offering access to teaching in further, adult and nursing education, and vocational training in industry, commerce and other professions, where the demand for qualified teachers continues to be high.

The two semester, one-year PGCE (PCET) Level 7 full-time course provides a generic approach to teacher training, with an emphasis on practical approaches to teaching and learning. The autumn semester of the course is university-based, followed by a 5 month period of continuous placement and
teaching practice in the spring semester. Places on the course are determined by the places available for teaching practice in partnership colleges. Applicants may arrange their own teaching placement only after successful interview. Such placements are based on specific requirements, teaching
specialism and personal needs.

Part-time Course

In-service students should have access to and be able to arrange 120 teaching hours over a period of 2 years. The aim of the programme is to enable you to explore, build on and further develop the professional skills needed for successful teaching and training in post-compulsory education. In achieving this aim, the course draws upon and works around the professional experiences of our respective course members.

Special Features:
* Endorsed by Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) until 2013 All the scheme programmes offer a pathway to QTLS, following the
successful award and completion of the PGCE.
* The most established course of its kind in Wales; sound links have been developed with FE providers across Wales.

IELTS
