The programme offers generic and specialist pathways providing students with the opportunity to explore their specialist areas of practice and obtain a relevant named degree within the MSc in Advanced Practice programme e.g. MSc in Advanced Practice (Colposcopy).
The specialist pathways through this programme are:

The programme is divided into modules that are credit rated. Each taught module offers 30 credits, with an optional dissertation for those who wish to move to Master's level. Students must complete four modules in the taught component of the programme; one of these is a compulsory research module and the remaining three modules are of the students' choice dependant on the pathway chosen.

* Possess an initial or higher degree of an approved institution.
* Possess a non-graduate qualification equivalent to graduation.
* These programmes are normally open to registered practitioners who possess an initial or higher degree of an approved institution. Where applicants do not hold a first degree, applications will be considered on an individual basis. For such applicants, evidence of relevant experience and continued professional development will be requested.
* Secured funding.
* Employer’s support (where appropriate).
* A prospective candidate who already holds the Doctor of Philosophy shall show that the Master’s Degree scheme to be pursued is in a different field of study from that for which the degree of PhD was awarded.
* Students will normally be health, social care or other professionals with relevant qualifications and registrations.
* Applicants whose first language is not English or Welsh must satisfy the English Language requirements for entry to the university by attainment of a minimum score of 6.5 on the IELTS no more than 3 years before the proposed date of entry.
* Individual modules within the programme may have additional entry criteria due to the aims and learning outcomes of the module and/or due to NMC regulations.
Note: International students pursuing part-time programmes of study are not eligible for Tier 4 General Student) visas and must have alternative leave to remain in the UK if they intend to study at the University in person.
