This master (120 ECTS) aims to train professionals expert in migrations. Intervention in such a complex reality requires interdisciplinary programmes and their transnational extension to its multiple views.
The goal is to train professionals with a comprehensive view of migratory processes in the world, either between countries or internally, produced by both the uneven growth of countries and social violence and discrimination on grounds of race, sex, and religion. Professionals with respect for human rights, who can respond to the demands of institutions responsible for the production and implementation of migratory policies. This specialised education is addressed to different professional profiles needing extensive and global experience in migratory processes. Therefore, the contents aim to build very flexible, multi-purpose profiles.
The migration specialist will be able to:
* Develop effective migratory policies.
* Promote international cooperation policies.
* Raise awareness and prevent xenophobic, racist and dogmatic behaviours and attitudes both in the receiving population and the different migrant groups.
* Develop a critical spirit, ensuring a broad and global view of migrations.
* Design, run and evaluate programmes for groups with population mobility.
* Resolve problems individually and in small groups of migrants.
* Plan and develop scientific research on migration.
* Teach this subject.
It is addressed to civil servants from international organisations with a focus on: migratory flows, migratory policies, human rights, forced displacement, demographics, population studies, discrimination, racism, exclusion, ethnic groups and minorities, children and migration, refugees, political asylum, and human trafficking. Technicians from local and state public administrations. Non-governmental organisations´ members assisting emigrant populations, displaced people, refugees, and trafficking victims. Professionals from health, education, social work, lawyers, and economists.
The master has been organised by Scientific committee of master partnership. Psychology College, University of València. The lecturers come from the following universities: Universitat de València; Université Catholique de Lille; Canterbury Christ Church University College-Kent; University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland Universidad Surcolombiana.
The maximum number of students is restricted to 40.

* 50% Curriculum Vitae (candidates will be selected based on their academic records; having completed master-related courses will also be taken into account)
* 10% presentation letters,
* 30% interview with international committee, and
* 10% considerations relative to the master´s academic lines
* (intervention experience and professional practice in the migration field will be considered).
