Location of University of Warwick

The Warwick History Deparment is recognised internationally as a centre for innovative and influential research. Faculty interests range widely, from early modern England to contemporary India, from the history of consumption to post-emanicipation Caribbean societies. The MA in History allows students to draw from the strength and breadth of the Department's expertise by constructing an individualised programme of studyStudents follow a theoritically and methodologically challenging core module on the practice of historical research, which both provides training in methods and approaches to historical study and also introduces students to a variety of useful research skills.Students in addition select from the range of MA modules offered by the department to create an individual programme. These taught elements are complemented by a 20,000 word dissertation carried out under the supervision of one of the Department's forty or so faculty members.

The MA in History welcomes students into the rich research environment of the Warwick History Department through a flexible programme of personalised research and study.


Contents

Students take the core training module `Historical Research: Theory, Skill and Method´ and choose two options from all those available within the History Department.

IELTS

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

* An upper second class UK honours degree or equivalent.
* English Language requirements are based on the following minimum standards:

* IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with a minimum score of 6.5
* TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 600 in the paper test, 250 in the computer-based test or 92 in the internet-based test
* WELT (Warwick English Language Test) with a minimum score of BCC
