The MA programme in Modern French Studies consists of three strands which, broadly speaking, address the often complex relationship between texts and images. These are to be complimented by a core module which will introduce students to a wide range of theoretical positions with the aim of enriching their appreciation of the texts and critical practices examined in the course of their MA. Students may also choose a 30 credit module from any other MA programme within the Humanities. This programme is designed for students with a variety of interests, viz. literature, art, philosophy and aesthetics. It also reflects the research specialisms and publications of the members of staff involved. It provides a unique opportunity to study the ways in which the literary, visual and theoretical intersect.
