At present, "Politehnica" University of Timisoara has 10 faculties:· Faculty of Architecture· Faculty of Automation and Computer Science· Faculty of Civil Engineering· Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications· Faculty of Electrical and Power Engineering· Faculty of Engineering in Hunedoara· Faculty of Hydrotechnical Engineering· Faculty of Industrial Chemistry and Environmental Engineering· Faculty of Management in Production and Transportation· Faculty of Mechanical Engineering· Department of Communication and Foreign Languages.

"Politehnica" University of Timisoara has 15 000 students, 850 teaching staff and 900 administrative staff. The studies are organized according to the "Bologna" paradigm and comprise all three cycles: Licence, Master, and Doctorate.

The portfolio of specializations, the curricula and the syllabi of the "Politehnica" University of Timisoara are well attuned to the needs of the society. In 2007, the societal environment - mainly the large trans-national companies, but also the medium and small ones - benefited of 1 796 graduates and in 2008 of about 2 000.

Beyond its good name in education, "Politehnica" University of Timisoara is also recognised as a first class actor on the Romanian scientific research scene and has remarkable results on the national and international level.

An important number of research centres, respectively teams of researchers constituted ad-hoc, on different themes, successfully put in practice the scientific research strategy of the university, within the framework of numerous grants and contracts won by competition. The results of the research are materialized in papers, patents and products, all bringing for the University prestige, as well as important funds.

"Politehnica" University of Timisoara possesses an educational and research infrastructure - both buildings and equipments - comparable with the one of the most prestigious European universities. Its actual level is the consequence of the important funds it has beneficiated of during last years. To exemplify, we mention that an amount of 17 million EUR was dedicated to building a new library, which will be given in use in the first part of 2010.

One of the main priorities for the "Politehnica" University of Timisoara is its affirmation on the international level. Currently the university has cooperation agreements with more than 100 universities from all over Europe, but also from USA, Canada and Japan.

The students of "Politehnica" University of Timisoara benefit of a modern social campus, with a nice student restaurant and 16 student residences. In total there are 5 500 accommodation places. All student residence rooms - 1 800 in number - have Internet connection and cable television, but also, since 2007, new refrigerators and new furniture.

"Politehnica" University of Timisoara developed for its students and employees, an excellent sport base, comprising a sport hall, an indoor swimming pool, a running track, tennis fields, basket fields, handball fields, mini-soccer and soccer fields.

The interpersonal climate in the "Politehnica" University of Timisoara is one of good-understanding and mutual respect, at the same time agreeable and propitious to performance.
