Institution Info

ESCP Europe is both a high-level school of management with international scope and a large-scale European institution. It was founded in Paris in 1819 and, since then, has educated generations of leaders, contributing to the fine reputation it enjoys today. The European calling of the school was born when the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry decided in 1973 to create a multi-campus school of management in France, Germany and the United Kingdom, called EAP. The ambition was to contribute actively to the development of a European economic culture. With five campuses in Paris, Berlin, London, Madrid and Turin, ESCP-EAP became the School of Management for Europe. Each year ESCP Europe welcomes 4,000 students and a similar number of top-level executives. It is at the cutting edge of a knowledge and immaterial economy; fosters innovation and accompanies business organisations in their change process; sustains a wide international partnership network reflecting its global ambitions; is actively involved in economic and societal debate on European issues. Students and executives come from around the world. The school offers them a model of management which prepares them for the future in the respect of such humanist European values as creativity, history, culture, transversality and diversity.

Student Life

The London campus covers over 4,000 square metres, which is divided into educational and residential areas. The main part of the building is around 125 years old, with additional teaching and student social accommodation added during the building refurbishment programme that took place in 2003/4. The residential accommodation consists of 30 student rooms and four rooms for visiting staff.

There are eight lecture rooms with seating capacities ranging from 20-150 people, and six breakout/seminar rooms.

Computers are available for student use in the library, BNP Paribas Trading Room and computer room, with a total of 63 computers and four printers, one of which is colour. Wi-fi is also available in most of the building.

Amenities include a student lounge, learning resource centre, small cafe and function space. The Function Room houses a magnificent fireplace and stained glass window, whilst The Chapel (so called as it was the chapel for the building when it was an ecclesiastical college) has the original vaulted ceiling and stained glass windows. The central courtyard provides an oasis within the School.

Student Life
ESCP Europe students are very active in student associations, both within the School and in the wider community. There are limitless opportunities for social exchange and both personal and professional development through involvement in these associations, which create and organise several situations where students can exchange and share their experiences.

Our links with the corporate world in the UK are strong, and there are many opportunities for our students to attend corporate presentations and interviews, which help them make informed decisions regarding their career plans and assist them with their internship search.

Living in London
Whether you are studying the Masters in Management or in European Business, we hope you are happy with your choice and that you take full advantage of it. However, being accepted onto your course is only the first step of several that you need to take – namely figuring out how to survive in and enjoy London life.
When we asked a recent student what the best way of settling into London was, they said: "just get lost, and try to find your way back". This is not something we recommend you take too literally, but it certainly proves one thing: how overwhelming everything can seem at first. It’s not cheap, but it is fun. It’s not simple, but it is worth it.

One of your first priorities will be finding where to live during your studies and opening a bank account. Without a bank account you cannot do many of the vital things in life, so we suggest you get this as soon as you can. Be warned, you will need to find somewhere to live before you do so, as UK banks will only accept you if you have an English address. The only bank account available to you if you set one up online is called a Basic Bank Account. This is not as limited as it sounds as you will get cash machine withdrawals (up to £200 per day), the ability to set up standing orders and direct debits, telephone and internet banking – the kind of things the average student wants and needs. If you want a more sophisticated bank account then you can always upgrade to one once you have moved to London. Either way, remember one thing: this is worth doing as soon as you can.

Accreditation

ESCP Europe

State-recognized school

There are over 200 schools offering business and management degrees in France; of these, only about half are recognized by the State. ESCP Europe is one of these.

EQUIS

The European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) has established high standards for the quality assessment of business schools: the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). Of the several hundred business schools in Europe, 59 have achieved EQUIS accreditation; ESCP Europe obtained its first accreditation in 1998, and was reaccredited in 2003 and in 2009.

AACSB

is the leading American accrediting body of business schools. For many years non-American business schools have enjoyed "membership" in the AACSB but only a very few have been accredited by AACSB. AACSB accreditation means that the business school meets the same very high quality standards demanded of top American business schools. ESCP Europe’s degree programmes were accredited in 2003.

3 National Memberships

Most European countries have a tightly-knit association of top business schools in the country.
In France, it is the "Conférence des Grandes Ecoles" (CGE) which includes 32 management schools.
In the UK, ESCP Europe is a member of the Association of Business Schools (ABS), grouping 102 leading business schools.
In Germany, ESCP Europe is one of the founding members of the VHP, (Verband der privaten Hochschulen), the German federation of private universities, which was created in 2004 and represents the common interests of 30 private universities.
