Founded in 1987 by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Boston University, Vesalius College offers American-style education that includes small classes, high teacher/student ratios and participatory classroom experiences. Vesalius College offers students the best of both worlds: the personal attention and community environment of a small college and access to the resources of major universities. The College also shares academic events, guest lectures and participates in faculty exchanges with the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the Université Libre de Bruxelles, the University of Kent at Brussels and Boston University. Research and Library Resources Students at Vesalius have access to extensive resources for research at three major libraries: the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Université Libre de Bruxelles and The Royal Library, Belgium's national library. Together they provide students with access to over five million books. In addition, students have access to a wide variety of online resources including thousands of journals and newspapers, library catalogues and databases. Computer Resources Computer and internet access is an essential part of student life. The Vesalius College computer lab features both PCs and Apple computers as well as facilities for students with laptops to connect to the College

Student Life Vesalius College is part of a broader student community in Brussels that consists of four other universities: the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the Universite Libre Bruxelles, Kent University, and Boston University. Together, they supports a vibrant student lifestyle. Easily accessible by bus, train, tram, or metro, the area has everything to meet student needs including affordable housing, two on-campus cafeterias, libraries, banks, shops, markets, restaurants, bars, live entertainment venues, organised athletic activities, and state-of-the-art sports facilities. Vesalius Student Government The Vesalius Student Government (VSG) is an elected student body and acts as the main liaison between students and the academic administration of Vesalius College. The VSG appoints representatives to the Academic Council, which is the academic governance of the College, and regularly meet with the Dean on matters which affect the students at the College. The Student Government also holds a very important social role. It organises welcoming activities for new students, sports activities, seasonal parties, drama evenings and other social activities throughout the year.
