Business related programmes have been taught at Exeter since the University was founded in 1955 and by 1973 we became one of the first institutions in the world to offer a specialist masters programme in finance. The Business School came into being in 1997 and is organised into five academic disciplines: Accounting; Economics; Finance; Management and Leadership. We have close relationships with industry and professional bodies and an active alumni community.
The Business School is located on the University’s main campus, one of the most attractive campus locations in the UK, and has been transformed by recent investment projects including a new Business School building, expanded library facilities and redeveloped social and retail spaces.
The University of Exeter Business School offers students not only a quality education in superb facilities but also a wide range of opportunities to allow you to enhance your employability skills beyond the classroom. Each year over one hundred different employability events take place ranging from presentations by alumni on working in different sectors to mock job interviews. You can even get advice about what to wear! For undergraduate students you can also either study for a year at one of our partner institutions or spend a year working in industry.

We have a dedicated student services team who are your first line of support and they will assist you with administrative issues such as registering for different modules and handing in coursework. Our academics have specified office hours which are reserved for discussing academic matters with students so you are always able to book an appointment if there is a topic on one of your modules which needs further explanation.

In addition, the University has library, sporting, social, pastoral, health and retail services and facilities all located near to the Business School on the main campus and our accommodation is either on the campus itself or nearby, closer to the city centre. International students can also attend free in-sessional English classes.
Exeter is consistently rated as being one of the best places to live in the UK. A small city, with a population of 120,000, Exeter is a mixture of old and new, with buildings dating back as much six centuries sitting alongside modern retail and residential developments. It is a safe, cosmopolitan city with lots of things to do but avoids the hassles associated with life in a big city.
Exeter is located in the South West of England which is one of the most beautiful areas in the UK. By bus or train you can easily reach the sea with beautiful beaches and dramatic coastlines or head inland to find rugged upland moors or more gently rolling countryside with woodland areas and beautiful valleys.
The Students’ Guild runs refectories, bars and a shop on the campus and, as well as representing the student voice, gives affiliation to nearly 200 different student societies. These range across the arts, faith and nationality based societies to sports and recreation, the media and volunteering and many students who join a society find it to be an excellent way of meeting new people.
Being a student at the University of Exeter gives you discounts at lots of shops and places to eat in the city and you will find everything you need within easy reach in the compact city centre. There are also opportunities to find work either on the campus or in the city.
