Arts & Cultures
The old historic General Study building at University Street in València was refurbished in 1999 on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of University of Valencia. The origin of the building is found in the houses bought by the city juries in 1493 to use them as the seat of the General Study, founded in 1499. It evolved over time, all along five centuries of history. All the works undertaken always took into account its use rather than its monumentality. At present, it is the seat of the Historic Library, although with totally renewed infrastructures for studying and researching. It has also become a cultural venue, but its academic life is well rooted with the maintenance of the conference hall and other quarters. A space for culture in University of Valencia, La Nau offers exhibition facilities on a permanent basis. They are adapted to the features of the projects presented. The Matilde Salvador hall is a multi-purpose room for music events and shows. The Sapiència Chapel sometimes hosts concerts and exhibitions.

University Accommodation
The halls of residence are university centres which offer accommodation to the members of the university community, promoting the human, cultural and scientific training of their lodgers. They either belong to Universitat or are associated to it. Universitat de València has two student halls: Lluís Vives and Rector Peset.
Lluís Vives Residence Hall Located in the centre of the Blasco Ibáñez campus, this hall was a pioneer in the mixed accommodation system, since in 1980 it became the first hall for both boys and girls in Spain. It provides 167 students with accommodation and there are rooms for 26 lecturers. The hall has a canteen, a bar, a library, a gym, video, music, and computer rooms, and an Internet connection in each room. Concerts are held at the Montaner Room (pop music, post and avant-rock, jazz, classical music), and films are also shown. The room is used for the activities organised by the Activity Committee, which encompasses different resident clubs (sports, music, photography, theatre, etc.).
Rector Peset Residence Hall Rector Peset Residence Hall is located in the historic centre of València. The refurbished building is made up of an 18th century palace and two manor houses that belonged to the marquis Martínez Vallejo. It has 170 rooms (single and double) for students and 50 for lecturers and researchers. It has a computer room, two libraries, four video rooms, a gym-solarium, a conference hall, the Muralla room, an exhibition hall, a music and rehearse room, two canteens, and a cafeteria.
Damià Bonet Residence HallThe new Damià Bonet Residence Hall, inaugurated by RESA on September 2010 in collaboration with the University of Valencia, is one such place. The residence hall is located in the Campus dels Tarongers, has 300 places as well as various facilities designed to make your stay as comfortable as possible. During the admission process, preference is given to students of the University of Valencia, but if places are not filled, students from other centres will be admitted
Student halls associated to Universitat de València The associated student halls have been set up by either a public or a private entity other than Universitat de València, but have been acknowledged as associated.
Universitat de València runs a flat database staffed by CADE, where students can find flats for rental, shared accommodation, and bed-sits offered by the owners or other students willing to share. This service is free of charge.
Inter-generational programme Living together By means of an agreement with Caixa Catalunya and Valencia Council, Universitat offers students the possibility of living with senior citizens without paying any rent. The participants of the programme are also given a grant. In addition to giving free accommodation to students, this programme is a way of helping and accompanying older people living on their own. To participate, an application (available on the website) must be filed with CADE.
