Services & Facilities

Walk through the rotating door, stroll down the “street” – you have arrived! Welcome to LIT’s Moylish Park Campus – the site of three schools within LIT, including: Business & Humanities, Science, Engineering and Information Technology, and the Built Environment.

Swing a right and walk down the entrance hall to our state-of-the-art Millennium Theatre; a 350 seat theatre used during the day for LIT lectures, and when the sun goes down the theatre lights come up as the site for some of Limerick’s best concerts, recitals, drama, comedy, dance and live entertainment!

Take a walk “up the hill” and you will see a number of buildings in the back yard of Thomond Park, including the EAC, home to over 20 start-up businesses; the Students’ Union Building with its games room, relaxation lounge and Wired FM: LIT’s very own radio station. To the left you will see “Block 15” where the Video & Sound Technology and Music Technology programmes house their brand new recording and editing suites.

Soon, LIT will have a new addition to its campus with the inclusion of a new Learning and Information Resource Centre (LIRC). The existing library will be relocated to this new building. Built with you – the learner – in mind this new building will have vastly increased book and reader space, internet support services, project meeting rooms, as well as open and distance learning facilities.

A few minutes away from the Moylish Park Campus on Clare Street you will find the newly refurbished Limerick School of Art & Design; known for its students who are at the cutting edge in the design world, the campus reflects this imagination, creativity and ambition that we see in our Art & Design students.

If you’re looking for a place to hang your hat and put up your feet at the end of the day, LIT has the perfect place for your home away from home with accommodation villages only minutes walk (or free bus ride with LIT’s shuttle bus) away from the campus.

Library

The LIT Library is bi-locational. The Technical Library and Headquarters are located at the main Moylish Park Campus and the Art Library is located at the Clare Street Campus.

All LIT patrons have full access to both library sites. LIT library serves the learning, teaching and research needs of the Institute. Our Library collection has been developed to reflect all disciplines taught at the Institute. Our collection policy is to provide high quality, timely and relevant information resources to our patrons.
