Founded in Paris in 1945, ENSICA is one of the prestigious French aerospace schools. It has been based in Toulouse since 1961. ENSICA is a public establishment under the Ministry of Defence, General Delegation for Armaments.
ENSICA trains multidisciplinarity engineers (civil and military) capable, at outcome, of controlling complex projects within an international context.
The school offers a complete range of training: a "Diplôme d'ingénieur" (engineer's dipoma) course, training for and through research, a set of "mastère specialisé" courses, advanced training for executives from industry and state departments.
ENSICA has more than 400 students including 340 on the engineer's course and 65 students doing post-graduate studies (specialisations and doctorates).
The engineer's place in the French system
Qualified French engineers acquire knowledge during a long higher educational cycle including multidisciplinary academic education and training in a professional environment organised within an accredited teaching establishment. Their competences and values are:
- their multidisciplinarity
- their down-to-earth sense
- their capability to specify and model
- their capacity to integrate and innovate
- their international openmindedness
- their control of economical aspects
- their general culture
- their respect of the code of ethics.
Depending on type of training, the French engineer can be:
- a specialised technical engineer -
- an engineer capable of implementing research and development processes -
- a versatile multidisciplinary engineer capable of combining the two previous qualities.
ENSICA's engineers are versatile engineers of the third type.
"The basic job of the engineer is to solve problems of a technical, concrete and often complex nature related to the design, manufacture and implementation of products, systems or services. This capability results from technical knowledge which, on the one hand, is economical, social and human and, on the other hand, underpinned by a solid scientific culture."

Health, social services, grants Infirmary
All students have a medical check-up during the first term. This allows any medical problems to be diagnosed and/or taken into account.
Treatments available: first aid, injections, blood-pressure monitoring, dressings, removal of stitches, sprain treatments, eye tests, urine analyses, etc.
Sleeping problems, fatigue and loss of appetite can all affect academic results. A nurse can help students and serve as a point of contact with heads of department to help students continue a normal educational program.
Surgeries are held every day.
Social assistants
Two social assistants are available for ISAE students.
They intervene all year round to help students deal with difficulties in areas such as:
* accommodation,
* accommodation subsidies,
* financial problems,
* administrative procedures,
* socials security issues,
* information about part-time jobs,
* personal problems, family difficulties, etc.
Scholarships
The ISAE is affiliated to the Ministry of Defence. However, scholarships may be awarded to students based on social criteria. Grants are calculated according to the same set of common National Education criteria and in accordance with article 371-2 of the Civil Code.

From sport to culture, parties to graduation trips, the school’s student associations offer something for everyone.
The various events and activities held on the campuses provide opportunities for students to hone their engineering talents, exercise their imagination and practise their design and management skills.
They are mainly run by the student associations and help to cultivate the values of the two educational streams.
Students can enjoy themselves and forge strong friendships at one of the two Student Clubs.
Student Clubs Each of the two engineering campuses has its own club, the hub of ISAE student life.
The SUPAERO campus club,
The ENSICA campus club:
The ENSICA campus club is a lively place where ENSICA students meet, for a coffee during the day or to spend a relaxing evening.
The club has table-football, two pool tables, a dartboard, a good quality sound system and 400 TV channels on a giant screen.
It is also the ideal place for holding poker evenings and screenings of films or matches.
The ENSICA club is quite simply a friendly place where students like to spend their free time.
