Career prospects

Once you have passed all the components of the Master’s programme, you will be awarded the title of Master of Science in Business Administration. This degree is recognized internationally. 
The Financial Management specialization typically prepares you for a career in one of the many and varied professions that fall under the category of financial management. In the corporate sector you might become a treasurer, risk manager, controller or financial manager at a large multi-national corporation or in a small to medium-sized enterprise. 

The financial sector offers opportunities for graduates to become bankers, analysts, portfolio managers, accounting experts, insurance experts, or to enter into consultancy at a major national bank, with insurance companies, at major accounting firms, pension funds etc. There are also career opportunities in the non-profit sector: national government agencies, international agencies, supervisory bodies and others all need MSc's who are specialized in financial management.

The specialisation starts with three main compulsory courses: 

  • Advanced Corporate Financial Management 
  • Advanced Management Accounting
  • Financial Markets and Institutions 

Once you have completed these compulsory courses, you will have the option of choosing elective courses to help you specialize further in either Finance and Accounting or Banking and Insurance.

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00.     The TOEFL – or Test OF English as a Foreign Language – offers a paper-based test (PBT). The final, overall PBT score ranges between 310 and 677, and is based on an average taken from the three test components (listening, structure, and reading).     The TOEFL – or Test Of English as a Foreign Language – offers an internet-based test (iBT). The final, overall iBT score ranges between 0 and 120, and includes a scaled average from the four components (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). Read more about TOEFL (iBT).

Academic Requirements

In order to gain admission to our Master’s programme, you will need to have at least a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited research university including at least three full years of academic study amounting to a minimum of 180 EC or equivalent. We do not require a GRE or GMAT test score.
