Our Graduate Diploma in Applied Linguistics with English for Academic Purposes provides you with the opportunity to combine English language and academic skills with key areas of applied linguistics. Our applied linguistics modules examine topics related to second language acquisition and learning, and the principles of teaching English as a foreign language. They also deal with the relationship between learning a first and a second language, language aptitude, language teaching methods, techniques, materials and testing. Successful completion of the Graduate Diploma, at the required level, will normally qualify you for entry to an appropriate Masters-level course in our Department of Language and Linguistics.
Upper second class honours degree, or equivalent, in relevant subject area.
