The goal of the degree is to combine a thorough study of business economics with an equally thorough study of computer science. The Business and Information Systems Engineering programme is offered at KU Leuven.

About

Throughout the degree, emphasis is laid on familiarizing students with the possibilities and limitations of ICT and the opportunities offered by ICT in the context of an organization, as well as achieving its strategic goals. The curriculum deepens the insights from the Bachelor's degree and focuses especially on realizing a scientific attitude. The degree especially aims to deliver students who are true ICT professionals.

By the end of the degree, students have acquired:

  • a deepened knowledge of information systems engineering and a deepened insight in all of its economic, organizational and social aspects, especially through a substantial education of business economics;
  • a solid mathematical/technical background;
  • the possibility to analyze the needs of companies in the field of ICT applications and to develop, build and implement new systems;
  • the capacity to formulate research questions, describe research paths, gather information and analyze and interpret the obtained data.
