The course aims to provide an integrated framework of ethical events management built on the building blocks of successfully managing people, planet and profit. The framework is delivered via management theories surrounding the management of events in the context of the events industry and the application of these theories, tools and strategic approaches to the operational delivery of live events, within the global context.
The first half of the course is delivered at Stenden University in the beautiful town of Leeuwarden in the northern part of the Netherlands, which is home to the Stenden University Hotel a model of sustainable hospitality, whereas, the second half of the course allows you to experience the vibrancy of London, host of the 2012 Olympics and world leader sustainable event practice.
This internationally unique Masters programme provides a progressive events management curriculum delivered by Londons leading events management education provider in partnership with Stenden University in the Netherlands; specialists in the management of service economies in the leisure context. This course represents an extension to a 16-year alliance between the two institutions.
The programme will prepare you for management positions in a variety of international event sectors such as conferences, exhibitions, festivals, and sports events, whilst developing you own values, ethics and social responsibility; and highlights the importance to business of entrepreneurial practice, sustainability, and quality of life.
Whether currently working in industry, or an undergraduate wishing to progress to Masters level; if you are career-planning for management positions within the events industry and seeking a course that provides a international student experience, in addition to an international perspective towards employment; MA International Events Management provides a unique learning environment.

Teaching and learning
The course is delivered through a mixture of lectures, seminars, problem-based learning, learning technologies, field trips, and guest lecturers from industry. The course structure consists of modules that examine Sustainable Events Management, the Experience Economy, Events Marketing, Strategic Management, and Event Experience Management.
A good (minimum lower second-class) undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (such as marketing, business, international business, public relations, tourism, hospitality, leisure); or
* For those students who do not hold a degree or relevant professional qualification, extensive relevant work experience (3-5 years) together with evidence of scholarly ability is required
* Written and spoken English language ability tested to IELTS 6.0, or TOEFL 580 (paper based) or 237 (computer based)
