What is more, salaries of these specialists are one of the highest. For example, earnings of Network Managers in UK are Ł45,090 per year and Software Engineers are Ł43,020 per year. Forbes - the American business magazine - confirms that number of vacancies for IT specialists fluent in English will remain the biggest. They will also take the highest job positions.The Applied Computer Science faculty educates ICT specialists, computer system designers and administrators at undergraduate level. A practical approach to teaching is reflected in practice-oriented courses.

Description

UITM cooperates with partners from Poland, but also with giants in the global scale, such as CISCO, Microsoft, Oracle, CI Games or Infinite. Thanks to this cooperation, we use the best IT software offered by Adobe, Apple, CISCO, HP, Microsoft, Novell or Oracle. The software prepares for international certificates, which can be earned in one of our examination centres Pearson VUE and Prometric.

You can choose between two fields of study:

Computer Networks

You get knowledge and skills within the scope of infrastructure of computer networks, as well as security of information. Your classes are held under the supervision of experienced academic and the course is based on the trusted programs of CISCO Academy, such as CCNA Security and CCNP. You become acquainted with complex computer networks as well as tools which assure high efficiency, reliability and scalability.

Software Engineering Technologies

Hands on experience is highly valued by employers and this can be earned by completing projects assigned during a study course. You will be prepared to take tests and receive professional certificates, such as Microsoft (in the scope of programming technologies, i.a. Net) or Oracle (within the scope of programming in Java for JavaEE).

Professor of the University of Kansas – Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Lawrence, KS, USA, Institute of Information Technology Fundamentals at Polish Academy of Science (PAN). Vice-President of International Rough Set Society, member of American Association of Artificial Intelligence, Association for Computing Machinery, Upsilon Pi Epsilon. The inventor of 3 registered patents and author of many scientific publications.

Requirements

Documents to be sent by mail:

  1. Written request directed to Vice President for International Relations, stating the selected degree programme.
  2. Application form, filled out and duly signed by the candidate (email attachment)
  3. Curriculum Vitae in English signed by the candidate
  4. High School document including the final scores of all subjects taken at high school (original together with sworn translation in English or Polish)
  5. Bachelor diploma (original together with sworn translation in English or Polish)
  6. Statement issued by the higher education institution saying that a Bachelor diploma entitles its holder to undertake studies at Master level (second-cycle) if such declaration is not stated in the Bachelor diploma
  7. Academic transcript (original and sworn translation in English or Polish)
  8. Certificate of English Language Proficiency (for a full list of accepted certificated please go to: http://en.wsiz.rzeszow.pl/english_language_requirements.htmThe requirement does not concern those applicants for whom English is either the native language or was the instruction language at school.
  9. Copy of passport (page with personal data)
  10. Clause confirming that the university, which issued the diploma is listed by the Ministry of Education as an institution authorized to grant bachelor degree
  11. Health certificate including a clause that the student is in good health and is capable of commencing studies

  13. Declaration duly signed by the candidate stating that the Bachelor diploma has never been a subject of nostrification procedure in any higher education institution in Poland

English Language Requirements

On the basis of the Ordinance of the Minister of Science and Higher Education from 12th October 2006 on undertaking and continuing studies and trainings by foreigners, students wishing to pursue their studies in English in Poland are required to present the certificate to prove their knowledge of the English language.

The requirement doesnt concern those applicants for whom English is their native language or was their instruction language at school.

First certificate in English (FCE), Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE), Business English Certificate (BEC) Vantage - with at least Pass, Business English Certificate (BEC) Higher, Certificate in English for International Business and Trade (CEIBT) - certificates issued by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate and by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.
  2. International English Language Testing System IELTS - above 6 credits - certificates issued by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, the British Council and Education Australia.
  3. Certificate in English Language Skills (CELS) - Vantage (B1) and Higher (C1).
  4. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - at least 510 points from the Paper-based test (Computer-based at least 180 points) and at least 3,5 points from the written work - issued by Educational Testing Service, Princeton, USA.
  5. English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) - First Class Pass at Intermediate Level, Higher Intermediate Level, Advanced Level - issued by City & Guilds Pitman Qualifications (Pitman Qualifications Institute)
  6. International English for Speakers of Other Languages (IESOL) - "Communicator", "Expert" and "Mastery" levels - issued by City & Guilds Pitman Qualifications (Pitman Qualifications Institute).
  7. Spoken English Test (SET) for Business - Stage B "Communicator", Stage C "Expert", Stage C "Mastery" - issued by City & Guilds (City & Guilds Pitman Qualifications).
  8. English for Business Communications (EBC) - Level 2, Level 3 - issued by City & Guilds (City & Guilds Pitman Qualifications).
  9. English for Office Skills (EOS) - Level 2 - issued by City & Guilds (City & Guilds Pitman Qualifications).
  10. Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) - at least 700 points from the test - issued by Educational Testing Service, Princeton, USA.
  11. London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI): English for Business Level 2, English for Business Level 3, English for Business Level 4 - certificates issued by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examinations Board.
  12. London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) - Foundation Certificate for Teachers of Business English (FTBE) - certificate issued by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examinations Board.
  13. B2 Certificate in English - adVantage, B2 Certificate in English for Business purposes - adVantage, Certificate in English for Technical Purposes (B2) - TELC examinations (The European Language Certificates) administered by the WBT (Weiterbildungstestsysteme GmbH).
Tuition Fees:

A candidate is required to pay 2650 Euro for the beginning of study in one installment:
  • 150 Euro Application Fee (Application fee is not refundable) ;
  • 1750 Euro Tuition fee for first semester ;
  • 750 Euro Excess payment (It will be booked as the first installment for the next semester tuition fee);

*Tuition fee reduction! If you pass a semester in the first attempt, you will get a tuition fee reduction amounting to PLN 275 (PLN 55 per month) in the following semester.

Accreditation

We let our students develop their talents in IT and we support their innovative business initiatives. For that reason InnoFund – an investment fund was established.We cooperate closely with the market, thanks to which we know what companies need at a certain moment. UITM students also have access to Academic Incubator of Entrepreneurship. This development helps to set up one’s own business andcope with challenges related to it.

ImagineCup Winners

Our students take part in and win many competitions, including international ones. The CERVI team made up of UITM students took 3rd place in the finals (social projects category) of Imagine Cup 2015 – the biggest technology competition organised by Microsoft. The UITM team was the only one which was invited to take part in the Polish edition of Dragons’ Den competition.

In 2014 another team of UITM called Hotbeat Baloon took 1st place in Imagine Cup 2014 in the category of Games.A game ‘Lore’ – a project presented by our representatives was inspired by fairy-tale motives.

Become a Pioneer of Innovation

At UITM we take notice and appreciate our students’ work. We organise i.a. a competition entitled “Masters of Innovation” to single out innovative ideas whose implementation can improve our society’s quality of life or it can bring concrete business profits. Finalists of the competition receive a prize money. UITM also tries to attract potential buyers to purchase agiven product.

‘WatchMan’ is an idea for a mobile application awarded in the “Master of Innovation” competition. The app had been developed by IT students and dedicated to motorcyclists. In case of emergency, one click calla an ambulance, identifies the place of the accident and reports to emergency services.

Generation of the Future

Our students’ skills and creativity were recognised by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in the competition entitled “Generation of the Future”. The Ministry awarded prize money ca. €57,000 (250,000 PLN) for 2 best projects. The first awarded project is an app – an interactive game which educates children and parents how to behave in a safe way. Thanks to its advanced system, the app makes an analysis of children’s achievements. The other project, is a monitoring system of nature reserves and elimination of poachers.
