About

Students will get knowledge about advanced financial tools and techniques and develop skills of their application through workshops and real life case studies. Through the Master in Finance and Accounting program students will be able to develop data gathering and analyses skills, communication skills and ability to use IT tools effectively.

The program is addressed to candidates who bind their professional future with accounting in the broad sense and selected discipline of finance, in which they want to specialize. Knowledge, skills and attitudes offered by the program enable effective functioning both in disciplines connected and not connected with business, during work for somebody and by oneself.

  • Corporate Finance - track with KGHM

    The specialization offers an immersive and accelerated learning environment – one that inspires students to reflect and reemerge as professional financial analysts. Facilitated and moderated by experienced market practitioners, the specialization classes challenge the conventional knowledge and offer fresh insights into complicated business issues. As part of the specialization, students will be trained in cutting-edge techniques of portfolio and wealth management (including alternative investments), financial modeling, capital budgeting, and risk management. Kozminski University seeks to make the contents of the Corporate Finance specialization consistent with the CFA Candidate’s Body of Knowledge (CBOK). The ultimate goal is to enable KU students to start passing CFA exams while studying at the University.

  • Corporate Reporting and Accounting - ACCA track

    The specialization offers a professional in-depth training in the techniques of financial reporting, audit, and assurance. The classes aim to provide students with relevant theoretical basis and practical skills necessary to meet the expectations of the highly competitive business environment. Students gain advanced skills of consolidated financial reporting analysis, financial performance appraisal, quality control, and transnational audits.

    Recognizing the transformative role of experiential learning, Kozminski University constantly strives to achieve a perfect balance of theoretical knowledge and practice-oriented study solutions. This is where the feedback from the practitioners and wide business community becomes an invaluable source of new ideas and relevant evidence validated by everyday decision making. The specializations ‘Corporate Finance’ and 'Corporate Finance and Accounting' are partnered with Accenture, which is a renowned and internationally acclaimed leader in the domain of strategy, consulting, technological and operational solutions for business. Accenture’s managers participate in the Program council and provide trainings to our Master students in order to deliver an out-of-the-box perspective on complicated business issues. The best students will be invited for an internship at Accenture.

  • International Banking - Anti-Money Laundering - track with Citibank

    Qualified anti-money laundering (AML) professionals are in high demand as banking institutions increase their focus on risk prevention. Regulatory requirements are constantly evolving, forcing the financial sector to constantly improve AML response systems. As a result, AML has become a new hot career choice for ambitious people willing to work internationally. The shortage of qualified candidates in the field remains an issue. Recognizing the growing development opportunities offered by the AML industry, Kozminski University and Citi Service Center Poland established strategic partnership aimed at training skills and competences necessary to successfully work in the field of AML and Compliance. Students are familiarized with the general framework of risk management in financial institutions, AML operations standards and procedures, receive relevant knowledge of international legal AML regulations, and learn about the responsibilities of Compliance officers. Classes are conducted by senior management Citi’s AML Operations Hub. Best students of the specialization will be invited to summer internship program at Citi Service Center Poland.

Academic Requirements

Admission for Master programs at Kozminski University begins in May and is based on personal interviews.

Candidates who apply for a Master program in the same field in which they have previously obtained a Bachelor diploma are not required to participate in the interviews.

Foreign Candidates are admitted with omission of the above mentioned regulations in accordance with the ordinance of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland of September 9, 2009.

Required documents

Application for full-time and part-time Master programs at Kozminski University must include:

  • original high school diploma or a copy issued by the candidates high school
  • Bachelor diploma including the supplement (if the diploma was issued before 2005 supplement is not required)
  • 2 signed passport photographs
  • copy of the national ID or a passport
  • CV in English
  • at least one reference letter
  • proof of payment of the admission fee (non-refundable)
  • a certificate confirming proficiency in the English language (e.g.: TOEFL, IELTS, PEARSON, FCE) - not needed if you did your Bachelor in English
  • copy of a passport and a valid visa or residence permit
  • general health certificate
  • copy of health insurance valid in the Republic of Poland

All documents issued in foreign languages should be translated into Polish by a sworn translator in Poland.

  1. Documents can be submitted at the Admission Office on campus of Kozminski University, room D/126.
  2. Admission decisions will be issued within two weeks after Admission Committee receives all required documents.
  3. Deadline to submit application and documents: EU citizens - 15 September, non-EU citizens - 1 August (it is suggested to apply as soon as possible because of the visa issues - the decisions will be signed at the beginning of May, 2017)
  4. The admission fee for all programs delivered in English is 750 PLN.

Tuition Fee Per Semester

Tuition per semester 8900 PLN - full time studies.

Tuition per semester 7100 PLN - part time studies.

The price in euros depends on the currency rate of Polish Zloty (PLN).

Funding

1. The right for foreigners to apply for the following scholarships is defined within article 43 of the Act of Higher Education of July 27, 2005:
  • Social scholarship
  • Scholarship for students with disabilities
  • Merit scholarships and sports scholarships
Not every foreigner is eligible for the above mentioned scholarships. Eligibility depends on their form of stay in Poland and the regulations in which admission to the University was based.

You can be accepted to Kozminski University on the base of Regulations applying to Polish Citizens Which will give you the rights to apply for a scholarship if:

  • you are in possession of a valid CARD OF POLE “KARTA POLAKA” or,
  • you are a citizen of an EU member state, EFTA member state (party to the EEC Agreement or Swiss Confederation, i.e. Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland or Switzerland) or you are a family member of such citizen holding permanent resident card,
  • you hold a valid permanent permit to settle in the territory of the Republic of Poland or,
  • you have a valid refugee status granted in the Republic of Poland or,
  • you are under temporary protection scheme in the territory of the Republic of Poland or,
  • you are a migrant employee and citizen of an EU member state, EFTA member state (party to the EEC Agreement or Swiss Confederation, i.e. Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland or Switzerland or you are a family member of such person on condition that such person lives in the territory of the Republic of Poland or,
  • you hold a long term resident permit of European Communities in the territory of the Republic of Poland or,
  • you hold a temporary residence permit for one year or more issued in the territory of the Republic of Poland
  • you have been granted subsidiary protection in the territory of the Republic of Poland.
Please note that it is very important to submit proof that you fulfil the below mentioned requirements when you apply to study at Kozminski University along with admission documents.

2. Scholarship of Kozminski Foundation is available for every foreigner, regardless of their form of stay. In order to apply for this scholarship a student must meet both of the following two conditions: achieve a grade point average of at least 4.8 and be an outstanding achiever in the field of science, sports or organization.
