The International M.Sc./Ph.D. Program for Experimental and Clinical Linguistics (IECL) at the University of Potsdam provides an advanced academic training in research methodology in a flexible format and prepares you for a scientific career in the areas of psycho- and neurolinguistics. The IECL has a specific focus on the neuro-cognitive mechanisms underlying language processing, language acquisition, their disorders, and their rehabilitation.
You can develop your own area of interest within a research framework of first language acquisition, speech and language processing, evidence based practice in speech and language disorders, and multilingual language acquisition and processing. The language of instruction is English.After having obtained a qualified masterís degree, you can directly enter the PhD program and follow your individual research projects.

There are no tuition fees for the IECL programme despite the adminstration fee of the University of Potsdam, which currently amounts to approx. 240 Euros per semester and includes a semester ticket for the public transport in Potsdam and Berlin.

During the six semesters of the doctoral program you will earn a total of 180 credit points (CP).
Requirements for Admission to the Masterís Program:
Holders of a first academic degree, for example a bachelorís degree, with a minimum of 180 credit points in a field related to Cognitive Sciences (Linguistics, Psychology), Speech and Language Pathology, or another related field are eligible to apply for the masterís program.
If your first language is not English you must demonstrate an adequate command of the English language (C1 level, Common European Framework of Reference) with an internationally recognized test (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS).
Requirements for Admission to the Doctoral Program:
Graduates of the IECL masterís program or a comparable masterís program can apply for admission to the doctoral program.
