The Master in Business Design program from Domus Academy creates new connections between the worlds of business and design. You’ll work on projects relating to the business of design—and the design of business.

About

Enlightening and interdisciplinary, the Business Design program at Domus Academy focuses on how to apply design methodology, sensitivity, and culture to any business. You’ll study design-driven company management as you learn to draft plans for business development, branding, marketing, and communication—for product lines, startups, and established businesses.

With a multidisciplinary program combining creativity, management skills and an entrepreneurial spirit, the goal of this program is to prepare and train for management positions at modern design companies.

Outcome

During this degree program, students will:

  • Apply design-based methodologies within non-design fields.
  • Present a creative project in an entrepreneurial way by demonstrating its validity and reliability, through tests, supporting evidence, and application scenarios.
  • Demonstrate autonomy and originality in solving problems.

Internship

There is no better way for you to gain experience in your field than actually working in it. The internship is a chance for you to work onsite for a company or design studio in your field of interest—while applying all the strategies you learned in the classroom and in workshops. Alternatively, you can complete an intensive project in collaboration with a company on the Domus Academy campus.

Either way, you’ll get an inside perspective on how your industry really works, and you can make important connections that will further your career. The internship lasts two months and comes at the end of your year of studies. 100% of our students participate in the internship, including non-EU students, who may extend their visas for up to one year to complete this portion of their studies.

Graduates of the Master in Business Design program may go on to work in design-driven companies, advertising agencies, or in services companies in roles such as business development manager, brand manager, marketing manager, product manager, or design director.
