Description

The objective of this new autumn semester is to offer courses in English dealing with generic aspects of risk management including concepts of risk as well as risk analysis (identification and estimation), treatment, communication and management systems. The second part deals with applications in specific domains: process safety, dependability of computing systems, toxicological risks for human health and environment, natural and technological risks for construction, risk associated with electromagnetic fields and electricity. This second part does not require deep knowledge of each domain as an introduction to useful skills will be supplied. A large part of the lectures is provided by professionals.

Part A - Generic knowledge
o Risk management overview (3 ECTS): Notion of Risk;
Risk identification, estimation, treatment, communication
and consultation; Standards 30 h
o Systemic risk analysis (4 ECTS): Notion of system and
associated risks ; Methods for risk analysis; Errors and error
propagation modelling; Standards 50 h
o Systemic risk treatment (3 ECTS): Prevention techniques;
Protection techniques; other approaches;
Standards 30 h
o Safety management system (3 ECTS): Risk management
policy, process and system; Assessment of risk management
system; Standards 30 h
o Legal and human factors in risk management (3 ECTS):
Laws and regulations; Human and organisational factors;
Communication and consultation
Integrated approach 40 h
Part B - Application fields
For each domain, lectures will share the same framework: hazard
identification; risk estimation; prevention and protection methods;
standards.

Requirements

o Master 2 or equivalent degree,
Master 1 with at least 3 years´
professional experience
o Under certain conditions:
Master 1 without professional
experience or lower degree with

Funding

Candidates will be selected after
