The Katz Graduate School of Business is part of the University of Pittsburgh, one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the United States. Ranked among the world's finest programs, the Katz Executive MBA Worldwide Program prepares high-talent professionals with significant experience to move up to more strategic roles and enables them achieve greater success in global markets.
The Katz EMBA program operates on three continents. Students have the opportunity to enroll in one of three locations: Europe (Prague, Czech Republic), North America (Pittsburgh, US), and South America (São Paulo, Brazil). A hallmark of the Katz EMBA program is the Global Executive Forums. These forums are one-week trips that students take to each location, giving them the opportunity to immerse themselves in international markets and gain networking exposure with foreign classmates and business leaders. The Global Executive Forums are central to understanding business in new global contexts.
The Katz EMBA program awards its graduates a Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree. Students learn as a single cohort - no matter which location they enroll in, they earn the exact same degree. They complete the same curriculum and study under the same faculty: Katz's renowned professors are flown from the U.S. into the Prague and São Paulo locations to lead study modules in person, thus ensuring the same excellent quality of executive education. The Katz EMBA program is consistently ranked among top programs in Central and Eastern Europe and has been active in the region for more than 20 yearslonger than any other program. Katz is among the few U.S. schools in the CEE region to offer a program accredited by the AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). Since AACSB accreditation is the universal gold standard in business school certification, the Katz MBA degree is respected all over the world.
In an Executive MBA program, students learn not only from professors, but also from their colleagues in the class through frequent team assignments and interaction with experienced executives from various backgrounds. This is why strict admission requirements are an important guarantee of the programs quality. The Katz EMBA program is designed for successful working professionals who want to move into more strategic roles in the global economy. On average, Katz EMBA students have 14 years of work experience, including nine years in a managerial role, and many hold senior-level positions. They have already earned academic degrees in various fields. Typically, Katz EMBA students speak multiple languages; they come from nearly a dozen countries in a given year and often travel across Europe as part of their regular job. They work in a variety of industries from financial services and manufacturing to the energy and media industry.
The Katz EMBA program is accredited by the AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). Very few U.S. schools in the Central and Eastern Europe region hold this accreditation, which represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools. AACSB International is the premier accrediting agency for bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs in business administration and accounting. In fact, Pitt has been continuously accredited by the AACSB since 1919.
The Katz EMBA program takes 16 months to complete. Classes are scheduled once a month over a long weekend, Wednesday through Sunday. The block scheduling structure is designed to minimize disruptions to students' work and family life and is well-suited even for those commuting from across Europe.
Additionally, students will complete three Global Executive Forums. A Global Executive Forum lasts one week, Monday through Friday. Two of the Forums are held in Pittsburgh (US) – one at the very beginning and on at the end of the program, when the global class also attends their graduation ceremony in Pittsburgh - and one is held in Prague (CZ), and one in São Paulo (Brazil). The schedule for the Katz EMBA is set a full year in advance, which gives our students the notice that they need to plan accordingly
Katz professors are flown from the United States to locations in Prague and São Paulo and deliver every study module in person. The professors, internationally respected for their academic research and industry consulting work, embrace entrepreneurship as a frame of mind. They are widely published in top-ranked research journals and provide expert opinions in leading publications including The Economist and the Financial Times, New York Times, and Wall Street Journal.
