The Master of Science in European Forestry Erasmus Mundus (MSc EF) is a Master's degree programme provided by a consortium of seven well known European universities. The MSc EF is an international double-degree programme, which has been acknowledged by the European Commission as a top quality European MSc under the Erasmus Mundus programme.
The focus of the programme is on the international dimensions of forest resource management and utilisation, supported by a sound understanding of ecological conditions and their dynamics in Europe.
The international environment of the MSc EF invites you to study and to meet friends from all over the world. In addition to receiving a high quality education, you will enjoy the cultural and recreational opportunities of many European cities and nature.
The curriculum of the new MSc European Forestry program is divided into 8 modules, of which 6 modules are studied during the first study year, and two modules during the second study year.The studies of the first academic year consist of the following courses:
MODULE 1 - Trends in European Forestry - 6 ECTS Location: Sweden
MODULE 2 - Sustainable Forest Management in Europe - 18 ECTS Location: Finland
* Academic skills in Forest Sciences (1.5 ECTS)
* Economics of Multiple-use Forestry (3 ECTS)
* Advanced Course in Forest Ecology and Biodiversity (3 ECTS)
* Forest Resource Assessment, Management and Planning (3 ECTS)
* Silvicultural Management of Forests for Timber Production and Other Ecosystem Services (3 ECTS)
* Forest Governance and Environmental Policy (3 ECTS)
* Research Methodology in Forest Sciences (1.5 ECTS)
MODULE 3 - Elective Courses - 10 ECTS Location: Finland
MODULE 4 - Applied Period in Forest Institutions - 15 ETCS Location: different European countries
MODULE 5 - European Forestry Field Course - 8 ECTS Location: Spain, France, Germany and the Netherlands
MODULE 6 - Multifunctional Forestry in Mountain Regions - 3 ECTS Location: Austria
During the second year, the students have the chance to specialise in their fields of interest by taking obligatory and elective courses and carrying out the master's thesis in one or two of the consortium universities.

MODULE 8 - Master's thesis - 30 ECTS
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
