The EMBA Curriculum

The European Executive MBA curriculum provides participants with unique opportunities for group learning and study. Study tracks (Itinerant, Paris, Berlin, Madrid and Torino) which progress individually on the core curriculum are brought together for electives and thematic seminars.
The curriculum is designed on the basis of different delivery and study modes combining individual work with team projects, as well as interaction among participants and professors. The academic curriculum is supported by current business cases and the analysis of issues facing professional organisations across the globe.

There are nine core courses that make up the foundations of the European EMBA: Corporate Strategy, Organisational Behaviour, Managerial Economics, Accounting, Corporate Finance, Marketing, Management Control, Operations Management and International Business Law.

Participants choose 12 electives from a portfolio of more than 30 options. Covering a diverse range of subjects and disciplines, these electives offer the chance to explore specific areas of interest and make the EMBA truly customisable.

The EMBA includes five week-long international seminars, each of which explore a specific theme related to the business environment in all its dimensions.

Our International Consulting Project is an integral part of the learning dynamic of the EMBA. Lasting eight to twelve months, it allows participants to use and consolidate thgeir understanding of the concepts and tools presented during the programme

The EMBA Curriculum: Core Courses

Corporate Strategy

A key factor in any business is executive skill in the field of strategy. This module provides an introduction to strategy, followed by an in-depth analysis of the environment, resources and competences, expectations and purposes of the strategic position. It covers corporate and business-level strategy as well as strategy implementation. Participants will leave with a comprehensive understanding of the strategic issues that guide their actions as managers, consultants and/or leaders.

Organisational Behaviour

Within an organisation, social, cultural and psychological dynamics impact on the behaviour and success of managers. this module introduces participants to motivational and communication techniques, the development and understanding of successful work teams, how to handle the concepts of power and influence, and – most importantly – how to analyse their own behaviour within the work place to achieve managerial success.

Managerial Economics

In order to understand competitive environments and predict market trends, managers must have first mastered the economic models, tools and related concepts needed to analyse the market accurately. Managerial economics takes participants through the concepts of perfect and imperfect competition, market regulations, pricing strategy, and the importance of technological advance and patenting. At the end of this module you will have a good understanding of how macro and micro economics impact your industry - and your business.

Accounting

Financial managers are expected to make highly educated decisions on how a company's budget will be invested over the coming year. However, equally important is the understanding of previous accounting periods and the managerial decision-making therein. this module takes participants through vital areas of understanding such as IFRS financial statements, financial statement analysis, amortisation and depreciation, inventories and business combinations.

Corporate Finance

This module guides participants through the most important aspects of corporate finance. It covers stocks and bonds, sources of value creation, long term financial planning and mergers and acquisitions, using case studies to illustrate and discuss each subject matter in depth. The module will leave you with a better understanding of the relationship between financial management and other areas of business administration.

Marketing

This module allows participants to understand marketing both as a science, with specific techniques and methodologies, and as an art, drawing on creativity to set a brand aside from its competitors. the course focuses heavily on new marketing media and on the increasing role of customers in the marketing process. Case studies are used to help participants practice their marketing management skills and become conversant in the issues faced by marketers.

Management Control

Through this module, participants will acquire the skills necessary to analyse cost accounting and control systems. Covering the management control process, the Balanced Scorecard approach and the building of performance modules, Managerial Control will enable you to implement the methods needed to improve company strategy.

Operations Management

The objectives of this module are to introduce participants to the main operational issues faced by companies in a highly competitive environment, as well as the major approaches and tools for operational performance and continuous improvement. the course covers operational aspects of competitiveness; a global approach for improving and accelerating the value stream; and the analysis of performance management, from strategic issues to action plan deployment.

International Business Law

This module introduces participants to the essential aspects of the world's major legal systems, taking them through primary sources of law and the different court procedures. You will learn how to successfully resolve international business disputes and identify the critical issues when contracting international business activities.
