Based on this unique partnership, this Master is founded on an educational policy based on interdisciplinarity and students initiative as well as on an international perspective. This policy is supported by the top-level and complementary expertise and know how of both partners: engineering sciences in ParisTech schools and biomedical and health sciences at the Université Paris Descartes.

The Master proposes a program of excellence intended for students with a wide variety of backgrounds (biology, chemistry, biochemistry, medicine and health sciences, computing, mathematics, physics, engineering sciences…). The goals of the Master is to provide students with required tools to master a wide range of the biomedical engineering fields. Programme Structure

After the first and second semesters with common teaching units, the Master’s program is organized in five different specialties for semesters 3 and 4:

  • Bioimaging (BIM)
  • BioMaterials (BioMAT)
  • BioMechanics : from tissues to musculoskeletal structures (BioMECH)
  • Molecular and cellular biotherapies (MCB)
  • Bioengineering and Innovation in Neurosciences (BIN).

Academic Requirements

  • Conditions to apply for the 1st year of our master program (M1): having obtained or being in the process of validating a Licence 3 or a  Bachelor’s degree (science related)
  • Conditions to apply directly for the 2nd year of our master program (M2):
    • For students in science or engineering: having obtained or being in the process of validating a Master 1; having obtained or being in the process of validating a Master’s degree;  being a 3rd year student in an engineering school or being a 2nd year student in a ParisTech engineering school affiliated with the Master BME-Paris program for a double diploma
    • For students in health science (medical, pharmacy or dental schools): being a 3rd year student in the Medicine-Science or Pharmacy-Science program at University Paris Descartes or at l'Ecole de l'Inserm Liliane Bettencourt; being an intern or Doctor of Medicine (MD), Pharmacy (Pharm.D), Dental Surgery (DDS) or Dental Medicine (DMD)

Tuition Fee Per Year

Tuition is around 500 € per year for a M1 (including social security) and around 650€ for a M2 (including social security and interdisciplinary seminar) to be paid on registration in September. No additional tuition is asked for internship or thesis.
