Design can reinforce the competitiveness of a company. Would you like to work with others and become better at understanding and using design possibilities?
The MA programme with specialization in Business and Design is a 2-year programme, developed in collaboration between School of Design and Crafts (HDK) and School of Business Economics and Law at University of Gothenburg.
The programme is for those who are interested in design and the importance of design for the development of companies and organizations. How to increase the ability to coordinate and take advantage of different skills in a design process? How to reinforce the role of design into business? How a design approach can be used as a driver for innovation?
The main purpose of the education is to sort out these issues. Students with an undergraduate background in the artistic field as well as business, economics, humanities, technology or social science are welcome to apply. The content of this programme is suitable for many different knowledge fields and depending on your background. Possible professions after graduation could be Designer, Design Buyer, Artistic Director, Project Manager, Design Manager and Product Developer.
The education is carried out in close cooperation with companies and organizations in the region. The programme is largely experimental and linked to the implementation of fictitious or real projects. You will also have the opportunity to make international exchange during your studies.

The purpose is to get the best insights and practical training in using a design perspective in strategic processes of an organization. What is the link between design, branding, marketing and strategic change? The focus of the projects varies according to different themes and various partners are invited, depending on the current theme. The programme ends with a graduation project during the last semester.
The project is conducted in small groups or in pairs, under supervision. The programme will lead to a Master of Science in Business and Design, 2 years or students that have a Bachelor's in Fine Arts can opt for the MFA Master of Fine Arts in Design, 2 years.
