This Mathematics Graduate Diploma is designed both for mathematics graduates who are looking to consolidate and expand their understanding of mathematics, and also for graduates from other backgrounds to introduce them to the main areas of the subject.

About

This course is available as a free-standing qualification, and most students take this programme as a pathway to the MSc. This course forms the first year of a two-year programme with successful students – those gaining a merit or distinction – progressing onto the Mathematics MSc in the second year.

Description

The Mathematics Graduate Diploma is a highly flexible academic programme that offers you the opportunity to customise your module choices to reflect your study interests.

You must take modules totalling 120 credits to complete the course. If you are studying full-time, you will complete the course in one year, from September to June. If you are studying part-time, your programme will take two years to complete.

English Language Requirements

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00.   • Minimum required score (Grade B2):

    The CAE test – or the Cambridge Advanced English – is an exam for applicants who wish to get a Certificate in Advanced English. To receive the Advanced certificate, test-takers must score between 142 and 210 on the Cambridge English: Advanced test. Read more about CAE.

    The TOEFL – or Test Of English as a Foreign Language – offers an internet-based test (iBT). The final, overall iBT score ranges between 0 and 120, and includes a scaled average from the four components (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). Read more about TOEFL (iBT).

Academic Requirements

  • Bachelors degree  (or international equivalent)  with mathematics as a major subject
  • Applications must be made online using King’s online application portal and a non-refundable application fee of £55 applies
  • Please include transcripts of subjects taken in the relevant degrees and copies of all certificates and relevant qualifications mentioned in your application
  • If your first language is not English you must be able to provide recent evidence that your spoken and written command of the English language is adequate for the programmes for which you have applied.
