The Master course proposes the formation of the professional profile of pedagogista in educational services from 0 to 6 years (infant-toddler centres, preschools and new types of services) with particular focus on the figure of the pedagogista within the
municipal services for early childhood in Reggio Emilia.
The Master will be held in Reggio Emilia (Italy) in collaboration with Reggio Children and Preschools and Infant-toddler Centres Istituzione of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia. Simultaneously, the Webster University in St. Louis (MO - U.S.) along with Maplewood Richmond Heights School District will realize a two-semester program in the academic year 2011-2012, and a Graduate Certificate in Pedagogical Coordination in the Reggio Emilia Approach, inspired by the figure of the pedagogista within the infant-toddler centres and preschools of Reggio Emilia.
The partnership between Reggio Children, the Preschools and Infant-toddler Centres Istituzione of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia and Webster University with Maplewood Richmond Heights School District, with the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, will provide a deepening content between the class in St. Louis and in Reggio Emilia, which will use periodic live and recorded presentation by professor from Webster University, and Saturday Skype sessions for students in Reggio Emilia and in St. Louis to exchange reflections on internship experiences.
The lessons, for a total of 1500 hours, will be held mainly in Italian with seminars in English language, and they will take place from October 2011 to October 2012.
The course is open to European community and non-community citizens with degrees of level I (DM 509/99 and DM 270/04) in Educational Sciences and Psychology, as well as owners of pre-DM Degrees L. 509/99 and University Diplomas 341/90 considered equivalent. We encourage foreign students to read carefully the admission requirements at Art. 2 of the instruction for application, with particular attention to the recognition of academic qualifications obtained abroad.
