Graduate skills

On completion of the program, a graduate:

  • has an advanced knowledge of mathematics and its applications,
  • possesses the ability to reason mathematically and be able to verify mathematical conjectures,
  • knows commonly used terminology in English,
  • is able to present mathematical concepts in speaking and in writing,
  • is able to build, develop and apply mathematical models,
  • can use advanced IT tools to solve theoretical and practical mathematical problems,
  • is prepared to cooperate in international teams, where the leading language is English,
  • is able to deepen his knowledge of current research in mathematics and informatics,
  • is ready to embark on doctoral studies.

Career opportunities:

Having completed the program in Mathematical Methods in Computer Science, a graduate will possess broad background knowledge in mathematics and informatics useful for work in international computing teams, especially ones where mathematical tools play an essential role.

He will be able to: construct, optimize and research the computational complexity of algorithms solving practical problems; construct and implement programs; service software packages used in engineering and statistical data processing; design and maintain databases. Through education in mathematics and IT skills, the postgraduate will be capable of interdisciplinary cooperation with professionals who use mathematics and informatics in their work and will be able to deepen his or her knowledge independently in response to rapidly changing demands.
