* 3 World-Class Institutions: The Lisbon MBA International Program is a collaboration between the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Universidade Nova de Lisboa and MITs Sloan School of Management. This partnership ensures that you will receive the highest level of academic expertise.
* Integrate the right and left sides of your brain: A core curriculum in the fundamentals of management is complemented by Friday Forums focus on interpersonal skills and leadership. Singing, acting, learning how to manage up and give negative feedback to your peers and developing advertising campaigns are just some of the ways in which we help you strengthen your teamwork and leadership capabilities.
* MIT Immersion: Take classes and develop new networks at the Sloan School of Management during a summer stay in Boston. Company visits and group activities complement your coursework at MIT.

* International Labs: The International Labs provide an intensive real-world experience, where students from The Lisbon MBA work together with MBA students from Fudan University in Shanghai orInsper in São Paulo. * Professional Development: Learn the art of career planning with our Career Management Center. Our Career CORE program is supplemented with our optional Career PLUS program.

MIT Affiliate Status
Graduates of The Lisbon MBA International are entitled to Affiliate status in the MIT Sloan Alumni Association. Affiliates are individuals who have completed their MBA programs under the auspices of MIT Sloans global collaboration. Through these programs, MIT Sloans global impact and visibility continue to grow. Likewise, the inclusion of these affiliates in the MIT Sloan Alumni Directory provides all MIT Sloan alumni and its affiliate´s access to an ever-growing network of management leaders and entrepreneurs around the world. MIT Sloans China partners include Fudan University, Lingnan University, and Tsinghua University and SKK Graduate School of Business at Sungkyunkwan University.
Terms 1-3: Fundamentals (January - May)
From January through May, youll focus on the core skills and knowledge of international business administration through coursework in marketing, organizations, economics, strategy, accounting, and finance.
You will also use this period to begin your journey of self-discovery and development during Friday Forums.
In order to build the foundation towards acheiving your career goals, you will attend several workshops and work with our Career Management Center during the Career Management CORE in the 1st Term.
For international students, optional Portuguese classes are a fantastic way to learn the local language and develop an additional skill to help set you apart in the global context.
Summer Period: MIT Immersion and Internship or Lab
Over four weeks in the month of June, youll tackle global issues in management and technological innovation at the Sloan School of Management. While at the MIT campus, you will have the opportunity to explore the cities of Cambridge and Boston and experience life at MIT.
Throughout July and August, youll gain real-world experience and additional networking opportunities with a company or organization in your chosen industry. Our Career Management Center works with you individually to identify the right internship from the start of the MBA program. If you choose not to complete a summer internship, you have the option to participate in the Portugal-China Lab or Portugal-Brazil Lab which brings together students from The Lisbon MBA and Fudan MBA or Insper respectively, on a project for an actual company.
Terms 4 & 5: Specialization (September - December)
Returning to Lisbon at the end of August, you will have the choice to focus on a specific area of management for further coursework or diversify your options by selecting several electives. In addition, youll be selected to work on a live consulting case or have time to develop your own business plan through one of two mandatory courses.
Your leadership and personal development will continue through the Friday Forums and you will have the option to enroll in Career Management PLUS for additional resources and workshops to further your career goals.
The Fifth Term also brings you the Business Case Competition, where you will work in teams on solving a real-life problem for an organization with the chance for special awards. Previous business cases came from EFACEC, Grupo Pestana, UNICRE, and Saphety.
To successfully manage international teams, youll need a good dose of cultural sensitivity which is best earned when traveling and working abroad.
Through our partnership with MIT Sloan, The Lisbon MBA International gives you the chance to discover the culture and business practices of the fast-paced northeast of the United States.
As a student in The Lisbon MBA International program, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in courses and campus life at the MIT Sloan School of Management in Boston for four weeks during the month of June in the summer. You will have access to MITs professors, prolific libraries and learning centers, while pursuing courses specifically focused on global issues in management:

Welcome to Boston
Living in Boston is the best way to learn about the culture of the USA one of the worlds most important markets. During your time at MIT, youll work with students and faculty based in Boston further extending your network of friendships and professional relationships. As a part of your immersion period, you will visit several Boston based companies and learn about their back-stories and how they were able to achieve success.
In addition, Boston is the ideal student town: with over 20 other universities based in the city, entertainment and night-life options are limitless. Take a Duck Tour to explore Bostons historical landmarks both on and off the waterfront, learn how to sail on the Charles River, check out the boutiques in Bostons south end or take a breather from classes at the Liberty Hotel, once known as Charles Street Jail and now a nighttime destination for locals and visitors. Boston has an extensive public transportation system, making traveling throughout the city easy for students.
Step-by-Step: What is Required to Submit Your Application
Completing The Lisbon MBA International application will require significant time and effort on your part. Plan ahead to make sure all forms are submitted by the appropriate deadline.
Candidates must complete and submit the Online Application, required test scores, university transcripts, and two contacts (referees) that can give a recommendation upon request. Additionally, every applicant to The Lisbon MBA International must make a mandatory contribution of 50 to the scholarship fund through their application fee.
A complete application includes the following and must be submitted prior to September 30th, 2012 for consideration in the Class of 2013:
Online Application: Candidates must fill out the online forms, including four written essays. A CV is also required as part of the online application.
University Transcripts: The Admissions Office must receive a copy of the official transcripts issued bt the academic institution where you received you first degree. This document must be uploaded in the online application form and shouls mention the grades and the average score.
GMAT or GRE: Candidates must submit a score for the GMAT (the Graduate Management Admissions Test) or GRE (Graduate Record Examinations). The GMAT score range for the Class of 2012 was 530-740. More information on these exams can be found at the following sites:

English Proficiency: Candidates for whom English is not their native language must submit a standardized English Language Test score TOEFL, IELTS, CAE or CPE. Minumum scores: TOEFL 93, IELTS 6.5. More information on these exams can be found at the following sites:

Two References: Candidates must provide contact information for two different people who know them well in a professional context in order for us to contact them for a recommendation. Employers, professors, or colleagues are some examples of people who may write a recommendation on your behalf. This process will be done through the online application - please do not submit letters of recommendation separately as we will only accept recommendations provided through our own process.
