The Lisbon MBA Part Time is a part-time degree in business administration framed in an international environment with a focus on both the academic component and interpersonal competencies that develop strong leaders.
Brought to you by the two top Portuguese universities Católica and Nova The Lisbon MBA Part Time prepares you to face the unexpected challenges of leading a top organization and to drive new trends in international business. Not only will you gain a solid foundation in the fundamentals of analytical and quantitative skills, but youll be exposed to new methods of strengthening your personal and leadership abilities as well.
Fundamentals: You will be trained in the core competencies of general management in the following areas Strategy, People, Processes & Systems. These competencies will enable you to define and implement the competitive advantages of a business or product to achieve an optimal positioning in the market; motivate, coach, and develop human capital as the main asset of a business, plan, manage and measure the main business variables to achieve the highest level of efficiency and productivity.
Concentrations: As a student in The Lisbon MBA Part Time, you will be able to pursue a concentration in either Finance or Marketing through elective courses selected during your second year of the program.
Leadership Stream: Every successful leader needs to balance their hard skills with interpersonal and leadership capabilities. The Lisbon MBA Part Time Leadership Stream allows you to explore three sets of crucial competencies through a complete set of seminars and workshops.
Internationalization: An international perspective on management and people is woven throughout each aspect of The Lisbon MBA Part Time Program.
Exchange Agreements: The Lisbon MBA Part Time Program has established exchange agreements with a number of the finest business schools in Europe, North and South America. Exchanges between business schools bring students face-to-face with different perspectives, giving you a chance to make new friends and connections across borders. You may attend classes at another school over one term, during which time you will gain a unique personal experience along with exposure to a foreign business culture. Foreign students regularly attend classes at the Part Time Program as well.
First Year
Throughout the first year, we will provide you with a solid foundation in modern general management, through coursework in accounting, economics, finance, organizational behavior and marketing.
During the Leadership Stream Series, you will begin developing your self-awareness, team-building, and communication skills.
In addition, you have the option to participate in the International Trip during your first or second year of the program. Should you wish to participate in both, there will be an additional cost for the second trip.
In the third term, you will select your first elective courses from three different disciplines: Marketing, Finance or Management.
Second Year
During your second year of The Lisbon MBA Part Time you will tailor your MBA to align with your own career goals, choosing a greater number of elective courses according to those goals.
A focus on Career Development launches you in your job search or business plan presentations.
As a student of The Lisbon MBA Part Time, you will have the option to follow either the Evening or Weekend schedule according to your professional and personal needs.

These resources include coursework, networking opportunities, and the option to develop a business plan under the guidance of faculty during your second year in the program. The flexible program schedule will allow you to earn your degree while leaving time to continue building your business.
Step-by-Step: What is Required to Submit Your Application
Completing The Lisbon MBA Part Time application will require significant time and effort on your part. Plan ahead to make sure all forms are submitted by the appropriate deadline.
Candidates must complete and submit the Online Application, required test scores, university transcripts, and two contacts (referees) that can give a recommendation upon request. Additionally, there's an application fee of 50.
A complete application includes the following and must be submitted prior to June 30th, 2012 for consideration in the Class of 2012:
Online Application: Candidates must fill out the online forms, including four written essays. A CV is also required as part of the online application.
University Transcripts: The Admissions Office must receive a copy of official transcripts issued by the academic institution where you received your first degree. This document must be uploaded in the online application form and should mention the grades and the average score.
GMAT or GRE: Candidates must submit a score for the GMAT (the Graduate Management Admissions Test) or GRE (Graduate Record Examinations).

English Language Test: Candidates for whom English is not their native language must submit a standardized English Language Test score TOEFL, IELTS, CAE or CPE. Minimum scores: TOEFL 93, IELTS 6.5.
If you wish the TOEFL centre to send us your score report, our code is 7258.
Please note that if you have at least 55% in the GMAT verbal section, you don't need to present an English test.
Two References: Candidates must provide contact information for two different people who know them well in a professional context in order for us to contact them for a recommendation. Employers and professors are some examples of people who may write a recommendation on your behalf. This process will be done through the online application - please do not submit letters of recommendation separately as we will only accept recommendations provided through our own process.
