You’ll be encouraged to explore diverse possibilities within the subject, with support from highly accomplished and respected staff, all of whom have understanding and expertise in the art of illustration.
Facilities include excellent studio space and extensive printmaking resources, and a weekly Life Drawing class. You will also have the chance to study bookbinding, book arts, digital technologies and web publishing. The programme emphasises collaboration with writers, designers and publishers and many of our postgraduates have seen their work published.
You’ll take part in national and international competitions and possibly join the ranks of our students who have exhibited and won prizes in prestigious events, such as the V&A Student Illustration Awards, Penguin Book Awards, 3x3 and Image Nation.
The one-year MA and two-year MFA programmes offer an excellent opportunity for independent, focused study.
MA students produce a body of practical and written work on an agreed topic.
MFA students produce an additional extended range of work, appropriate to the length of the course.
Both years are project-led. Your study will combine practical studio work with theoretical and written studies, including professional practice elements to prepare you for employment in the industry, and a lecture/seminar series that will examine the wider context of your studies.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Per 6 April 2015 only the English language tests from IELTS and Trinity College London are accepted for Tier 4 Visa applications to the United Kingdom. Other tests (including TOEFL, TOEIC, Pearson, City & Guilds) are no longer accepted for Tier 4 visa applications to the United Kingdom. The university might still accept these tests to admit you to the university, but if you require a Tier 4 visa to enter the UK and begin your degree programme, these tests will not be sufficient to obtain your Visa. Since the Trinity College London language tests must be taken in one of their exam centres in the UK, IELTS is now the only language test accepted for Tier 4 visas to the UK that can be taken worldwide.
A UK 2:1 honours degree, or its international equivalent. Any appropriate professional experience will also be considered.
This programme requires the submission of a portfolio and study proposal.
No work experience is required.
Fortunately enough I was able to find StudyPortals. Right from the start of the application to getting the confirmation of admission I was using StudyPortals.
