This is a generalist Masters degree preparing you for a wide range of
business careers.

The design and content of the programme makes it suitable for you if you are either not yet sure of your specific career path and want flexibility, or you seek a general management education at postgraduate level and intend to follow a career in global business.

The practitioner focus of the MA Global Management develops your personal and professional competencies as well as your general management capability.

This course aims to:

* Introduce students to current debates, theories and provide a complete understanding of markets/cultures/diversity within all aspects of the global business world.
* Apply practioner theories to enhance transferable skills to the workplace

Programme Features

* Small class sizes and close personal attention from the course tutors, many who have extensive experience working in industry
* Two semesters of taught core and specialist modules, one elective module and a 15,000 word final dissertation.
* A Dissertation which provides a major opportunity to extend the interest of the individual student by focusing on a specific business area, a business plan or consultancy project.
* Practical Business Simulations to recreate real life employment based scenarios

Global Management (Marketing)
The MA Global Management Masters degree prepares you for a career in global marketing and business.

The practitioner focus of the programme develops your personal and professional competencies as well as your general management capability in a global context. The programme will equip you with a wide range of key skills, accelerating your personal and professional development.

The MA Global Management (Marketing) comprises of 3 semesters.

* Semester One - Four core modules introduce you to general managerial areas and the main international marketing contexts in which they operate.
* Semester Two - you will study specialist modules and one option.
* Semester Three - the final part of the programme involves you in an individual research project based on an international marketing topic.

MA Global Management (Finance)
This Masters degree prepares you for a career in global finance and business. The practitioner focus of the programme develops your personal and professional competencies as well as your general management capability in a global context. The programme will equip you with a wide range of key skills, accelerating your personal and professional development.

The MA Global Management (Finance) comprises 3 semesters:
In the 1st semester, four core modules introduce you to general managerial areas and the main international marketing contexts in which they operate. In semester 2, you study specialist modules and one option. In the final part of the programme involves you in an individual research project based on an international finance topic.

Contents

Three Semester Programme - One year Duration
In the 1st semester, five core modules provide you with the competencies and contexts underpinning general management.

In semester 2, you further develop these skills in specialist modules and take one option which can include consultancy or business entrepreneurship. The final part of the programme involves you in an individual research project (dissertation).

Action Learning Week (ALW)
Most international students require a range of support mechanisms to make the most out of their time spent abroad if they are to meet the expectations of postgraduate study and adapt to UK teaching styles.

Action Learning week begins at the very beginning of the programme and is a compulsory element to the programme. Student's will look at a range of topics including:

Requirements

Applicants should possess an undergraduate bachelors degree in any discipline at 2:ii (Lower second class degree) or above, or international equivalent. If you are unsure as to the comparability of your qualification, please contact us where we will happily advise you.

Along with your application form please send us:

* Copies of transcripts and certificates from all previous studies, i.e. secondary school and/or university certificates
* 2 letters of reference, one of which must be academic, the second can be academic, professional or personal (cannot be from a family member) (please note the letters must be written on letter-headed paper and must be signed)
* If not a native English speaker, proof of English proficiency in the form of an IELTS, TOEFL or Cambridge Advanced English certificate*
* A 300-500 word personal statement giving the reasons for applying to the chosen course at RBS London
* A copy of the passport photograph page
* 2 passport sized photographs

English Language Requirements
For those applicants whose mother tongue is not English, we require a recent pass in any of the following qualifications:

European Union/European Economic Area Nationals
For students who are nationals of the EU/EEA countries and English is not their native language, we require one the following qualifications*:

* IELTS score 6.5
* TOEFL score 90 in the internet-based test, 233 in the computer-based, and 577 in the paper-based. The TOEFL code for EBS London is 2487.
* Cambridge Advanced English Certificate grades A-C
* Certificate of Proficiency in English grades A-C
* Pearson Test of English with 58 points
* EIKEN English test Grade Pre 1

* This requirement may be waived if the last three years of the student's education were in English. We reserve the right to request an English test at our discretion.

Non-EU/EEA Nationals
For students who are non-EU/EEA nationals and English is not their native language, we require one the following qualifications in accordance with UK Border Agency (UKBA) guidelines*:

* IELTS overall score of 6.5 showing a minimum of a 5.5 pass in all four components of the test
* TOEFL with 90 points, showing a minimum pass of Reading 18, Listening 17, Speaking 20, Writing - 17 (Please note that the paper-based TOEFL is not accepted by UKBA)
* Pearsons Test of English with 58 points, showing a minimum pass of 51 in all four components of the test
* Cambridge Advanced English Grade C or above in all elements
* GCSE or A Level English at Grade C or above, studied and taken in the UK on a student visa

* Please note this requirement is not only for academic purposes, but more importantly to meet the UKBA guidelines for a Tier 4 student visa.

Funding

RBS London Academic Excellence Scholarships
This Scholarship offers students up to 50% of their tuition fees in the form of a scholarship.
To be considered for an award, you will FIRST need to apply to the college.

It is important to be aware that the awards do not cover the full tuition fees.

This Scholarship is open to: Bachelors and Masters degree seeking students at RBS London. These merit awards are awarded to students with strong academic achievements and potential.

For students who have applied for the MA Business Management in Travel and Tourism, we will make our decision based on a combination of your academic background as well as work experience.

How to apply for an RBS London Scholarship
First you must apply to RBS London. This can be done on-line. You can also apply using the application form enclosed in the RBS London prospectus.

Along with your application you must send a 500 word statement for the attention of the Scholarship Committee, stating , why you should be considered for the award and what contribution you feel you will make to the School. The Scholarship Committee will want to see evidence of academic strength and/or potential.

Once you have been accepted to the School, your scholarship application will be forwarded for consideration at the next meeting. Note: All awards are subject to the holder maintaining good academic standing throughout the degree programme and fulfilling the conditions of the scholarship award.
