The Mechanical Engineering programme offered by the University of Twente (UT) will train you to be an expert who understands the entire process, from generating initial ideas to design and analysis, onward to the development of products, processes and systems, and maintenance and end of life recycling.

About

The Mechanical Engineering programme offered by the University of Twente (UT) programme offers unique opportunities to combine various disciplines and will encourage you push the envelope of what is possible.

Almost every aspect of our modern world is in some way a product of mechanical engineering, from power stations and oil refineries to steel plants, flood barriers and hearing aids. Mechanical engineers are behind all of our modern means of transport and they are also responsible for innovations in fields such as biomedicine. They contribute in the Research & Development phase as well as the Design & Construction phase and are involved in the Organization & Management. These three competences are represented in the three tracks within the ME programme at the UT.

Our research focuses on developing expertise that spans the entire life cycle of systems and objects, from initiation to design, production, operation, maintenance and demolition, inspired by the ideals of benefit to society and respect for the environment. During the master thesis assignment, students will specialize in one of these areas.

Accreditation

The programme holds NVAO accreditation.

Programme Structure

Programme structure by specialization:
