Description

MSc/LLM Oil and Gas Law focuses on the main legal issues within todays oil and gas industry.

Aberdeen is the energy capital of Europe and this postgraduate course in Oil and Gas Law, taught at Aberdeen Business School, has been developed to provide graduates with the skillset required in an area of increasing market demand.

Award: MSc/LLM Oil and Gas Law

Dissertation

In Stage 3, you will present a written research proposal for submission. This will normally form the basis for the Masters level dissertation. You will work independently but under tutorial supervision, to undertake the research and prepare the dissertation.

Requirements

An undergraduate degree in law or a related discipline (usually at honours level) is preferred however relevant experience in the oil and gas sector may be an acceptable alternative where relevant qualifications are lacking.

All international students, for whom English is not their first language, must gain either IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

Merit Scholarship

Aberdeen Business School offers a number of merit scholarships to outstanding students. The scholarship is available to:

  • international students who will study the course by full time and distance learning and pay for the fees at the international rate; or
  • UK or EU students who will study the course by full time and the fees are set in excess of 6,000 GBP; or
  • UK or EU students who will study the course by distance learning.

Opito Scholarship

This scholarship is open to students undertaking MSc studies relevant to the Oil and Gas industry.

Accreditation

The course has professional accreditation from the Energy Institute. This accreditation is recognition of the high level of quality training and academic expertise provided by on this course.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
