You may be a busy senior executive or middle manager in the UK or overseas, looking for a qualification that can be completed in your spare time and that doesnt restrict your life. And thats exactly why this online Masters is ideal for you.
Moving up the management scale in any organisation requires you to become more strategic in your outlook, and to have an awareness of the wider issues at play. This MSc Strategic Management online degree is an excellent alternative to an MBA to help you develop your strategic, analytical and management skills.
Build up qualifications as you study
We've designed this course so that it's flexible to suit you. It will take you 2-3 years to complete the full MSc, depending on how much learning you can fit in around your other commitments.
It offers a tailored progression route through three levels which culminates in the Masters award. You qualify for a PG Certificate after completing 3 modules, a PG Diploma after 6 modules and for the full Masters you'll need to complete the Certificate and Diploma level plus an Independent Study (triple module). So if you really cant complete the full programme, you can still gain an award and recognition for your work.
Flexibility to plan your own study time
Studying online gives you the flexibility to study at the most convenient time and place for you. Course modules still operate within a fixed trimester but you can choose to study during the day, in the evenings or at the weekend rather than having to attend fixed lectures.
To complete the Masters, you will need to complete a total of 180 credits. This must include:
Independent Study (60 credit)
International Business Strategies (20 credit)
Strategic Management (20 credit)
You can then choose four of the optional 20 credit modules below.
International Business Strategies
Strategic Finance for Managers
Strategic Information and Knowledge Management
Strategic Leadership and People Management
Strategic Marketing and Competitive Intelligence
Strategic Quality and Project Management
You should normally have the following.
* UK undergraduate degree (at least a 2:2) with Honours or equivalent
* we would also consider * professional qualifications
* relevant work experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree
* 2-3 years' work experience at a relevant supervisory or managerial level
|TOEFL iBT® test:||80|
IMPORTANT NOTE: Since April 2014 the ETS tests (including TOEFL and TOEIC) are no longer accepted for Tier 4 visa applications to the United Kingdom. The university might still accept these tests to admit you to the university, but if you require a Tier 4 visa to enter the UK and begin your degree programme, these tests will not be sufficient to obtain your Visa.
We have a number of merit based partial scholarships of £1,000 available for international students starting their course in September 2014 or January 2015.
These scholarships are available to apply for once you have applied to the University. You must be a full time international (outside the EU) taught student in the first year of your study at the University of Derby.
If you are successful, £1,000 will be deducted from your tuition fees. There are also a number of individual scholarships available for particular courses which become available throughout the year.
