The main objective of the Logistics and Transport Management programme is to prepare students for leading management positions, focusing on processes, systems and organizations for flow and storage of goods, services and related information from the point of origin to the point of consumption.
These management positions are found in the logistics function of manufacturers and distributors of all kinds, in transport companies and other logistics service providers, and in public organizations involved in the regulation and planning of transport and logistics at the regional, national and supranational level.
Increasing international competition, more heterogeneous and demanding customers and consumers, and more severe ecological restrictions are factors that will influence the future management arena for logistics and transport. The programme explains how logistics and transport managers can respond to these challenges by using inter-organizational co-operative strategies, modern information technologies, new business processes and new analytical tools in combination with more traditional management methods and contribute to the competitive advantage of their companies.
