Students will acquire the following skills:

Knowledge

  • Critical awareness of discipline-based concepts and approaches to understand the complexity of managing an organization in the global business arena.
  • Understanding of how acquired theoretical knowledge can be applied in practical international business situations.

Cognitive skills

  • Ability to acquire and analyze data and information, to evaluate their relevance and validity, and to synthesize a range of information sources needed to develop a sophisticated understanding of a rapidly changing international business context.
  • Skills in interdisciplinary analysis, drawing upon different empirical sources, analytical perspectives and sub-disciplines within management studies.

Professional skills

Learning Objectives

The Master of Science in International Management has the following educational objectives:

  • provide advanced preparation in the main business areas focusing on the international context: business management, marketing, corporate finance, labor management, operations and supply chain;
  • develop a complete overview of the problems linked to the operative, strategic management of companies operating on a global scale, keeping in mind the peculiarities of an international and often multicultural context;
  • complete your preparation in the business field providing competences in subjects as economics, quantitative and juridical, so as to develop problem analysis skills in interdisciplinary areas;
  • develop competences via educational activities inside and outside the classroom which promote student-teacher interaction and interaction between the students themselves as well as analysis of complex problems, problem solving skills, ability to present and discuss the results of one’s work;
  • promote competence (in the business area) in the use of English and of a second EU language to work effectively and efficiently in one’s profession.

Course Content

In the first year students are provided with the fundamental concepts of International Management through core courses and seminars that all feature a highly interactive methodology and are largely based on individual work as well as teamwork.

In the second year students complete their study program by choosing a free track or apply for a study abroad experience. They also have to take part in a compulsory internship - in Italy or abroad - study foreign languages and discuss their thesis to demonstrate their research abilities.

Requirements

Every year Università Bocconi establishes the maximum number of students that can be admitted to a given degree program. By doing so, the University guarantees the best possible living and study conditions for students, allowing them to successfully complete their degrees and enter the job market.

The Bocconi Graduate School offers pre-experience Master of Science programs, for students coming directly from previous studies (Bachelor degree) or also with some brief work experience.

International applicants

In all the selection rounds, International applicants are selected on the basis of a process that takes into consideration all elements of their profile, focusing on three components:

  • Results of the GMAT (or GRE) test
  • Grade point average of exams passed in the Undergraduate program
  • Evaluation of the applicant's Curriculum vitae / Resumée and Personal statement, possibility of personal assessment interview.

1.Results of the GMAT (or GRE) test

The aptitude test scores provide a fair and objective way to compare applications. Bocconi requires only the total score (verbal and quantitative sections) of the GMAT or GRE.No particular scores are required to participate to the selections

2.Grade point average of exams passed in the Undergraduate program

The undergraduate GPA and transcripts are an indication of the applicant's previous academic performance. No particular scores are required to participate to the selections

3.Evaluation of the applicant's Curriculum vitae / Resumée and Personal Statement

The Director of the Master of Science program will evaluate the various documents and information included in the dossier and verify the applicant's overall profile, experience and knowledge.Applications will not be evaluated if any of the 3 above mentioned elements is missing.
