English Language Requirements

You only need to take one of these language tests:

  • Minimum required score: 6.5

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00.   • Minimum required score (Grade A): 200

    The CAE test – or the Cambridge Advanced English – is an exam for applicants who wish to get a Certificate in Advanced English. To receive the Advanced certificate, test-takers must score between 142 and 210 on the Cambridge English: Advanced test. Read more about CAE.

  • Minimum required score: 92

    The TOEFL – or Test Of English as a Foreign Language – offers an internet-based test (iBT). The final, overall iBT score ranges between 0 and 120, and includes a scaled average from the four components (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). Read more about TOEFL (iBT).

Academic Requirements

An undergraduate degree, with an excellent or very good classification (equivalent to first or upper second class honours in the UK), in the field of clinical and allied health sciences, informatics, health policy, psychology, allied health sciences or a relevant related subject.

English language requirements

If English is not your first language, you must have one of the following qualifications as evidence of your spoken and written English.

  • IELTS Academic module: 6.5 (with at least 6.0 in each section)

  • TOEFL-iBT: 92 (with at least 20 in all sections)
  • PTE: 61 (with no score lower than 56 in each of the 'Communicative Skills' sections - 'Enabling Skills' section scores are not considered)
  • CPE: Grade B; CAE: Grade A

Technological Requirements

Access to a PC or Mac that you are confident will be able to cope with the volume of online activity that takes place and access to a good internet connection – we strongly recommend that you have a broadband connection, though you will find that a wi-fi or wireless connection is sufficient for most activities
