Global Executive MBA - 2 degrees, 3 continents, 14 months
Participants of the program receive two MBA degrees, an American and a European. The program belongs to the elite circle of MBA programs with four accreditations (AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS, FIBAA) and is top-listed in international rankings:
The program focuses on general management and leadership issues and taught in English. Emphasis is placed on the impact of globalization, the development of appropriate corporate strategies, the management of change processes and the acquisition of solid financial management skills.
During 14 months and only 40 working days off-the job, participants work on three continents and earn degrees from two leading business schools in America and Europe. Ten four-day modules are taught in Vienna and are accompanied by two-week pre and post module distance learning phases. The program also includes three international residencies to Eastern Europe (St. Petersburg, Russia), Asia (Guangzhou, China & Bangalore, India) and America (New York & Minneapolis, U.S.A.).
The didactic design, consisting of pre-, core- and post-module work, ensures an efficient transfer of knowledge while participants develop their professional career. The pedagogical approaches are diverse, ranging from interactive case studies to business simulations and formal presentations.
The Virtual Team Project is a key component of the Executive MBA (Global). It makes the academy one of the few institutions offering an MBA program that implements this innovative learning method.
Our partner university, the Carlson School of Management of the University of Minnesota, is running two additional Executive MBA programs - in China and the USA. All of these programs have an integral virtual team project as a key part of the curriculum - bringing together 130 MBA students from 3 universities to work in 18 teams on varying complex assignments. The university puts the teams together, paying careful attention to ensure the broadest possible range of experience and perspectives in each group. Experts and university professors coach the teams, who use a customized online platform to facilitate interactive working-processes for the duration of the project. The students face the challenges of working across cultures and time zones. Participants need to apply all their intellect, knowledge and acquired skills in order to successfully conclude the Virtual Team Project. At the end of the Executive MBA program, all teams gather and present their business plans from their chosen projects during the USA residency in Minneapolis.
