Course Content
This course offers a wide range of optional modules to reflect the needs of the wide range of students taking the course.

Once you have completed the taught components of this course, Masters students undertake a research and dissertation module to build on the skills you have developed during the earlier stages of the course.
Your individual project should be a relevant, original investigation or development related to the field of mental health, which must be submitted as a written dissertation.
Course Structure
The MSc in Mental Health Studies can be completed over one year of full-time study or over three years part-time.
The course comprises 180 credits in total, split across 120 credits´ worth of taught modules and a 60-credit research dissertation.
Diploma students study 120 credits' worth of taught modules. Certificate students study 60 credits' worth.
Course-specific entry requirements
Mental Health Professionals with a degree (at least 2.1) and two years experience of working in a mental health setting.
Doctors in Training attached to the Mid-Trent School of Psychiatry will attend the "Pre-Masters" ST1 course and then progress to the Masters in Mental Health Studies in ST2.
