Throughout the programme three interconnecting areas of digital architecture are examined in order to develop a strong understanding of the theory base as well as practical experience and skills in the use, customisation and development of information and communication technologies. The areas of study are: computer-based modelling and visualisation; computer-based simulations; and human-computer interaction and communication in pervasive computing contexts.
Compulsory modules (100 credits) typically cover: architecture in the information age; emergent digital design methods; 3D modelling and visualisation; interactive space design; guided specialist study; research methods. Finally you complete an individual research project (80 credits).
Compulsory modules:
ARC8015 Architecture in the Information Age
ARC8016 Emergent Digital Design Methods
ARC8017 3D Modelling and Visualisation
ARC8018 Research Methods
ARC8027 Interactive Space Design
ARC8034 MSc Research Project
ARC8038 Special Studies 2
An upper-second-class (2.1) Honours degree or equivalent, preferably in a design-related or ICT subject. A portfolio of design work may also be required. A degree in architecture is not a prerequisite for entrance to this programme.
